The Lunar Gyroscopic Detection of Radiation Node, shortened to LGDRN (either pronounced letter by letter, or "lu-gi-de-ra-no" which takes the first letter of each acronym, as scientists in the development labs call it for slang), is a gyroscope-based telescope launched by the company of the same name. The telescope was launched initially in mid-2022, then from the moon in late 2022, and is destined to travel in the same direction as the Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy. The node uses gyroscope-based technology to determine its location and it uses electron rockets to direct itself across its journey, having the potential to reach 99.999392% lightspeed. Every two days, the telescope releases 4 of its approximately 10 million heat-sensing carbon-based nano-rovers in all directions at 99.82% light speed to detect heat radiated from potential star systems. Each of them are buckminsterfullerene-based and are relatively cheap to construct compared to its host. If anything is detected by the rovers, the data is sent back to the node every time the next set is launched and the rovers will begin directing themselves towards the heat source. They can land safely on any planet in the star system and also set into orbit around the star. The main purpose of the node is to find any source of life or habitability to give an advantage to the far far future generation. When the node finally runs out of rovers, which is in 13966 years, the node will send a complete message to the LGDRN headquarters saying its task is finished and promptly trigger the detonators to begin self-destruction.

The company profits from the telescope by selling open days for all who is interested in the project. This includes $8 for entry for adults aged 18+ and $6 entry for children aged 4-18. Infants and toddlers below the age of 4 can go for free. The open day includes activities like interactives for kids and more thorough talks for adults. The company has a mascot for the telescope which acts as a Disney-like promotion strategy, called Luigi Derrano, similar to how the previously mentioned scientists pronounce LGDRN for slang. He is a flashy-looking businessman with a red tie and grey blazer, however, instead of a human head, there is a moon. The pseudo-head wears sunglasses with a sport-line strip on the temples. Luigi carries a laserbeam gun with sea-green veins coursing through the machine.
