Guzbass has been steadily clawing his way into the eye of underground house lovers for the last year. João made headlines when he stormed onto the scene, by seemingly out of nowhere signing a single to world renowned tastemaker label Dirtybird.

“Alien Talk” is a great representation of the Guzbass-sound and it fits the sound catalog of the San Francisco-based imprint beautifully. Continually pushing boundaries and driving the African scene forward Guz’s records have been supported by the likes of Claude VonStroke, Gettoblaster, DJ Craze,Mike Mcfly , Mat.Joe and Friend Within.

Learning his craft in the capital of Mozambique and currently based in Poland, Joao got inspired by Brazilian Bass giants such as Bruno Furlan, Ciszak, Holt 88 and DJ Glen. The 22-year-old from Maputo shows us there is a lot of incredibly fun, high energy house music coming from Mozambique and Guzbass might as well be the new posterboy of it all.
