Why do I have these lyrics in my head: "The heat is on, on the street / Inside your head, on every beat / And the beat's so loud, deep inside / The pressure's high, just to stay alive / Cause the heat is….boom, boom, boom, boom …on“? Exactly, it is time for a new episode of BBQ Techno and it’s pre-release "BT5“, highlighting the four exclusive titles of the full compilation. 

We have to say, that we are super proud of the BT5 selection. What a bunch of great tracks, celebrating the summer and outdoor dancing, all of them genuine open-air monsters.

For the first track, L.A.-based Jon Charnis, who has already released some amazing music on Innervisions, Supernature, All Day I Dream or NO19 Music, has teamed up with Lone Star State’s Hands Free (My Fav Robot, Dilate). Their track "Leviathan“ is a blueprint for the sound of 2015: Deep, melodic and story-telling. 

Next up is "Visa V“ by the Detroit/New York-based duo Ataxia from the Paxahau posse who have been signed by the Liaison Artist agency. "Visa V“ is a unique piece of music with unusual melodies and twists. A beauty with rough edges.

Schlepp Geist from Rostock has a strong and organically developed fan-base in and around Berlin, who is currently conquering the rest of the republic and Europe. "Tura“ is a rough and hypnotic charmer, with an old-school vibe. Working strongly on every floor. 

The last but definitely not least track on this release, is the wonderful "The Space Between“ by the duo Moosefly. This act is currently delivering bomb after bomb and we are more than happy to have them on board now. "The Space Between“ has everything a tracks needs this summer. A perfectly crafted pearl.

PREMIERE: AFFECT! & Maximillion - Polyhymnia (Ly ChenG Edition)

Shall Ocin & AFFKT step up to remix Henry Saiz's 'For Days And Nights' in this latest release from Natura Sonoris. This follows on from the original release, which finally dropped last month after featuring in Saiz's still-famed Boiler Room show last year. 
The EP features two reworks from Argentinian artist Shall Ocin; best known for his releases on illustrious labels Ellum and Hotflush, the producer steers the track into darker waters with melancholic pads and distorted bass. The dub mix sees him abandon the vocal the original track was built around to focus on the soundscape alone. 
The third and final remix is supplied by AFFKT. Renowned for his ever-poignant cuts and remixes, the Spanish producers contribution to the package is truly exquisite. Think layered ethereal melodies, compelling looped vocals and dark chord patterns.

The latest release on Clubsonica Records welcomes Kamilo Sanclemente back to the label for a brand-new EP. Long regarded as one of Colombia's foremost progressive house talents, Kamilo has found a home on Einmusika, Manual Music and Parquet Recordings, while earning continued support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Now fresh off a remix for ICONYC, Kamilo returns to Clubsonica for his debut artist showcase entitled 'Homeward'.

In a journey spread across three tracks it's the chunky grooves of 'Gemma' which gets things underway. Fast becoming Kamilo's trademark, it's free flowing storyboard is a delight for the senses, with the first act taking shape as a tasteful arp fades into prominence. Deeply hypnotic, the energy shifts with clustered claps and sizzling modulation, before eventually culminating in a tepid rush of crystalline melodies and airy vocal pads. 

The pure progressive house vibes continue with the EP's second selection 'People From The Future'. Kamilo's penchant for warm, contoured grooves is what makes this such a dance floor gem. Deep, rolling and with a bevy of momentum it anchors the tight rhythmic core and dulcet hooks perfectly. A lone vocal stab adds epic flair as the jangly melodies evolve, before getting washed away as a spiritual vocal initiate a classy drop and purring finale. 

The release concludes with its title and showcase piece 'Homeward' which sits as the most reflective of the three. On a backbone of pulsating bass comes acidic rhythms and symphonic pads. The smooth euphoric build is expertly executed and perfectly dialled for the dance floor as cascading arps and phasing harmonics carry through a poignant second act. Positively electric yet remarkably restrained this gentle sonic vortex culminates, before giving way to the warm, euphoric groove once more. It rounds out three stunning tracks from Kamilo, which further cements his place in the progressive house elite.
