Risa Taniguchi’s 'Look At Hatred' EP on MOOD starts with the title track. ‘Look At Hatred’ is a masterfully menacing techno banger with rumbling basslines, crisp hi-hats and clattering claps, all making a vast wall of noise that washes over the dance floor with unstoppable force.

Taniguchi’s 'Is Black Your Favourite Colour' then immediately locks you into the physical, muscular drums, landing with force, cut up by razor-sharp hi-hats. Clipped vocals are looped throughout the mix next to coarse synth details that make this a perfect weapon for any dark warehouse.

Tokyo’s Risa Taniguchi has an international reputation thanks to her unique and contemporary take on techno. She releases the ‘Look At Hatred’ two-tracker on Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD following a recent EU tour and a series of releases on Chris Liebing's CLR.

Nicole Moudaber launched MOOD Records in 2013, accompanying her award-winning weekly InTheMood radio show for over a decade. MOOD has become a haven for top-end DJs and producers whilst also providing a home for emerging talent to flourish, championing artists such as Ida Engberg, Carlo Lio, Pig&Dan, Dense & Pika, Juliet Fox, The Southern, and now Risa Taniguchi.

CLR welcomes back DEAS for the ‘Maniac’ EP. DEAS returns to Chris Liebing’s label for the fifth time this November.

Poland’s DEAS kicks off his ‘Maniac’ two-tracker on CLR with title track ‘Maniac’, featuring deep, sub-heavy rhythms accompanied by techno stabs that dart playfully over its groove. Leaving the cover of the smoke machines then comes ‘Bunker’, another monstrous warehouse track with a front-loaded low-end shot-through with hefty synth hits.

Planet Rhythm, Arts, and ara artist DEAS has long been a staple on CLR, first appearing on the label in 2021 with the ‘Command’ EP. He’s since dropped three more releases on Chris Liebing’s imprint, the latest being his 2023 ‘Fear’ EP, which won support from the likes of Dave Clarke, Dubfire, Bloody Mary, Amanda Mussi & many more.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like Shlomi Aber, Drumcell, Truncate and more while also focussing on developing newer acts in the scene such as B. Riley, The Southern, and Klint.

Orbit Berlin is a new underground techno label and collective created by Flight Møde, G.oss, and Kobzev. Supporting upcoming talent is a focus alongside established artists, with an eye on raw, spacey sounds and an analogue machine ethos.

'VA001' is their inaugral 10-track compilation that welcomes a host of talent from countries including Spain, Germany, Ireland, France, and Italy.

Collectively the artists included have released on top quality labels such as Robert Hoff's trau-ma, A.Paul's Naked Lunch, Fiedel's Fiedeltwo, Z.I.P.P.O's Fides, Ketch's SYXT, Philippe Petit's Knotweed, Fixon & Dig-it's ANAØH, OECUS, Synergie, amongst others.
