Bridge is a professional vocal chamber ensemble specializing in new music and works from the Renaissance and Middle Ages. Led by Artistic Directors Gilbert Spencer, Crossley Hawn, Allan Laino, and Jacob Perry Jr., Bridge is a collective of top Baltimore and Washington-based professional singers who come together to create new works of music for voices through commissioning projects with some of the world’s leading composers, and present them in concert alongside rarely heard masterpieces from the Renaissance and Middle Ages. The ensemble bridges this gap of several centuries, and aims to create innovative and engaging programs that will challenge the rhetoric of “classical performance” in the 21st Century.

Bridge is also thoroughly dedicated to its home city of Baltimore. Their dedication to working with local artists helps to ensure that the Baltimore arts economy continues to thrive, and significant efforts are made to see that performances are held in geographically diverse locations in the area. The uniquely creative
and DIY attitude that Baltimore has come to be known for is one that the ensemble hopes to mirror in its efforts to present the world’s oldest musical traditions in innovative ways that
resonate with its local conscience.

In 2018-2019, the ensemble worked with Composer-in-Residence
Jenny Olivia Johnson and presented several world premieres alongside over a
dozen regional and national premiere performances of works by living
composers. Their artists worked with leading arts advocacy and outreach
organizations in a new educational scheme designed to give children
tangible examples of the benefits to studying music seriously. Most
importantly, they are one of the strongest advocates in Baltimore and
the Nation for the creation and presentation of new works of music for
voices. They continue to seek to challenge the notion that “classical music
is dead” by giving performances of works that respond directly to our modern lives and the issues we face in society by composers who are very much still alive and creating music for our time. Bridge’s sound is timeless, but the music they make is truly modern and cutting-edge.

Let The Dirt Say Amen is pure unfiltered rap. Established in 2019 as part of the rebranding and expansion of The Dirty Church, LTDS Amen represents a sound that reminds you of an era in rap music that was all about raw lyrics, dirty beats, and an emphasis on the 5 elements of Hip Hop culture! Without question, it is important for me as an MC and producer to remain true to the tradition. My art is created with the culture in mind and on behalf of the people in the streets. My brand is inspired by the boom bap era and growing up in The District of Columbia during the crack epidemic of the 80s and 90s. My music is a direct response to the glorification of murder, drugs, and sex within hip hop culture. What if Bob Marley was a rapper?

Nate….Nate G or Nate Geezie

Whatever name you know him by…Nate has been involved in music in a variety of forms. He has been DJing since 1998 when he purchased his first set of turntables. In the years that would follow, Nate would find himself hosting his own campus radio show, DJing events and parties throughout the state of Indiana and rapidly increasing his music collection.

After college, he would move to the East Coast, where he landed a job working at XM Satellite Radio for 5 years. His passion for music grew and he began to DJ parties and events throughout the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas including his own series of charity fundraising events.

He has done remixes for several artists, including Dezaray Dawn’s “Chameleon”, which was just featured in the Ava Duvernay directed short film entitled “The Door” for Miu Miu. Other remix projects have found him crossing paths with Carlitta Durand (Foreign Exchange, Little Brother) for the "Doug & Patty, Season Two: In Sheckyvison" EP, as well as a remix EP for D.C. songstress Green Tea ("The Crazy Eights"). In 2011, he released his own pet project, "Playin' Favorites", where he skillfully recrafted soulful covers of some of his favorite artists in his own inimitable way. Recently honored as one of ATL’s Ministers Of Sound, he is also a resident of the legendary Godfather party (a James Brown tribute DJ series). Applejac has also played across the US alongside the likes of Nicolay (Foreign Exchange), Daz-I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic), DJ Spinna, J Rocc (Beat Junkies), Ge-Ology, Benji B (BBC 1xtra), Rich Medina, Frankie Feliciano, Pete Rock and others...
