Recent happenings::     Jonboy's DJ style has evolved over the years to its current state as a driving hybrid of disco, house, acid, and the occasional breakbeat. He is currently a resident and promoter of the Disco Katz crew, well known in SF for their Sunday Disco Cabana day parties and other events around the city. He is a former resident/promoter of the Freeform v. Dubalicious parties that ran for 7 years at both F8 and Shine in San Francisco. He has thrown a number of undergrounds, with both the SWAG crew and with former partner Robb Greene at various locations around San Francisco. He also ran the notoriously sketchy Stillman space South of Market in San Francisco which held way too many parties and talented DJs throughout 2010 and 2011. He has also performed and helped build the large scale sound camp Opulent Temple at Burning Man during the summers of 2010-2012 & 2014-2016. 

Background::    Jonboy's journey to the decks began in the early ’90s, when he spent weekends listening to the likes of Green Velvet, Psycho Bitch, Felix da Housecat and Moby perform at Medusa’s. The music inspired Jon to attend raves across the city while dancing to the early techno and industrial music of that era.  While attending college in Boston, Jon started listening to big beat electronica, such as the Chemical Brothers, the Prodigy and Fatboy Slim. In addition, seeing live performances by the "superstar" DJs of the mid to late 90s at Karma and Crobar in Chicago, is what inspired him to purchase his own decks in 1999 and take in electronic music to its fullest extent.
 
In the summer of 2001, he relocated to San Francisco where he was exposed to the funky overtones of West Coast house. Jonboy eventually warmed up to the chunkier beats and now plays a hybrid of house, techno, disco, acid and the occasional breakbeat that he continues to explore today.
