Dear America - Pursue Away [DEMO]

I made this quite a few years ago now.
It's essentially an inspired tribute to the works of Alvin Lucier - the meaning of the piece may become evident if you know the man, or not, either way it defeats the point to explain the concept! Music is meaningless without interpretation.
The chords are not orignal, I took the basic idea from a short piece called "Morning at Ben's house", written by (I think) Jim Wilson, Rob Hoey and Geraint Thomas for Multi Purpose Chemical's tour diary, MPCTV.

Thought Explode - Something Has Survived

I'm using Reason Pianos refill VSTi for Reason - it sounds fucking awesome! The 16-bit library is 500Mb, small for a library of 3 fully sampled pianos, and you can mix and match all of about 6 mics for each of the three pianos, and customise each one. This is played on the Yamaha C7. Beaut.

Also, I never studied the dynamic or tempo changes in the original score - it's played in many different forms on the soundtrack so I just play it how it sounds in my head at the time =]

I had an urge to hear these two songs together. Took about an hour and a half. Only working from rough copies of the full tracks, so It's not great, but I reckon it deserves a nod of moderate approval.

This one I actually quite like!
Fairly obviously, it's a remix of Sublime's "What I Got" and Aerosmith's "Walk This Way". And I may have stolen the bassline outta OPM's "Heaven is a Halfpipe".

With the exception of the Sublime vocal track which was half isolated for me already, all the other tracks have been isolated using a mixture of filters and compressors, from mp3s of the original tracks. Hence why they're not the best quality, but it works. :)
