This is an exclusive vinyl-only session with music from some of the artists from Mostra Barcelona Festival (@mostrabcn). The mix showcases the different styles you'll find at the festival, with a flowing coherence to the sound. It starts with ambient and electronica and continues into a hypnotic, gliding deeper techno sound. The two ABSIS tracks serve as a bridge between styles. The session concludes with broken rhythms of sinuous bass and Lynchian atmospheres. In this special mix, you'll find some of our favourite tracks from the last few years - classics already in the Mostra festival record bag.

Mostra is a brand new small-format festival of avant-garde and experimental electronic music, taking place 11-17 April in open air venues in Barcelona. Mostra is local, inclusive and sustainable: it proposes an alternative experience, providing visibility to artists not often seen in the main venues, and offering a counterpoint to the city's macro-festivals and commercial events. in spring 2024, i restarted collecting music on bandcamp and pouring some of it into mixes with a pioneer ddj-flx4. not sure if i'd call it djing - it's more like making mixtapes for myself and share them with the world. it sure is a form of self-therapy, though.

i did some vinyl-djing with minimal techno/elektro/idm in the late '90s and early 2000s at events in germany and a bit of europe, then slowly moved on to other things in life. finally, i donated most of my old record collection to the local dj community, marking a fresh start for me. sometimes it's good to let go and make space for new things, i guess.

as a kid growing up in the countryside, i spent a lot of time close to nature, collecting stones, sticks or weeds. it feels like i do a similar thing with music today, at least it gives me the same joy. does that make sense?
