DJ Kareem from Leipzig has been digging thru the world of vinyl for over 10 years. As a proud member of leipzig based collective @musicofcolor he is serving a broad variety of styles ranging from house to techno from electro to hip hop. 

This show consists of lo fi AOR, ambient hyms and glitchy electronica. First 45 minutes are selected by yours truly, after a lil chat Kareem is playing his current favs for the second hour.

Since Fall 2020 the two combine radical softness in their music: Rough rhythms meet emotional aesthetics. Their sound is about to see the world in form of their debut album soon.

Inspired by hardcore sounds of the past plus the cutting edge Footwork, Breakbeat and Jungle that her label platforms, Souci (she/her) cultivates a style which is ever-evolving. 

Growing up in Berlin as an immigrant, she has a unique perspective and an uncompromising work ethic which translates to the studio and the booth. Starting her deejay career in 2019 and with appearances at CTM Festival, Drugstore Belgrade and OHM Berlin already under her belt, her pace of progression matches the intense pace of her music. 

As co-founder of RAIDERS, Souci has overseen releases and raves alike, while refusing to ignore the political aspect of dance music culture and always endeavoring to highlight femme artists in her work. 

With releases on her own label and and Jensen Interceptor's International Chrome, plus more upcoming, it’s clear Souci is not slowing the pace any time soon.

Give us a brief description of yourself. 
My name is Nevena (she/her) and I go by Souci. I’m a multifaceted artist—first and foremost a DJ, then a music producer, and always a lover of music and dancing. In my DJ sets I try to transcend genre boundaries, featuring a kaleidoscope of electronic dance music, from house and techno to jersey club, breakbeat, and jungle. For me, music is a space for dialogue, inclusivity, and fun.

I’m of Serbo-Macedonian origin and have been based in Berlin for the past 20 years. Within the Berlin music scene I’ve co-founded the label Raiders Records, have promoted many events, and recently shifted my focus to creating my own music and have been working on my first EP.

A firm believer of “keeping the dance floors political,” whether it’s by fostering safer and more inclusive clubbing spaces, addressing issues like cultural appropriation vs appreciation, or advocating for mental health and/or sobriety in nightlife.

What inspires you as an artist? 
What inspires me most as an artist is witnessing a community that stands together in solidarity and resistance, where people uplift and support one another. I find it heartwarming to see the emergence of fundraiser events in Berlin over the past years. Collectives are increasingly coming together with the purpose of raising funds for good causes or mutual aid.

I’m also endlessly inspired by people expressing themselves freely, without the pressure to conform to any codes or rules imposed by a given space or crowd. Movement, music, and the joy of dancing without constraints—basically, any form of uninhibited self-expression.

What have YOU been listening to lately? Attended any shows recently?
Beyond digging music for my DJ sets, I’ve mostly been listening to non-electronic music in my private time lately. Right now, I’m still in recharge mode during the gray Berlin winter before fully going back to the clubs.

Advice/words for new artists?
My advice to new artists is to look beyond what you see online. Social media can often paint an unrealistic picture of success, so it’s important to ground yourself in real-life experiences. Go to lesser-known club nights, even when you don’t recognize the names on the lineup. Those spaces are often where the most exciting and authentic music is happening.

Build genuine connections within your local scene—talk to people, collaborate, and don’t be afraid to ask for opportunities, whether it’s a guest spot on a radio show, podcast, or event.

Most importantly, stay true to yourself. Trends come and go, but the artists who stand out are the ones who take the time to cultivate their own unique style and sound. Authenticity resonates with people, so focus on creating something that feels true to you, rather than trying to fit into a mold.

About the mix: House music was my introduction to dance music. It brings together the sounds that shaped me: the emotional pull of Chicago house, the ravey energy of the UK, the rawness of Detroit, and the diasporic heritage I carry from the Balkans.
House music is a powerful space of both release and resistance: a place to shed burdens
and express freedom. It defines me because it doesn’t demand a single identity. Like my
sets, it’s genre-fluid, emotionally charged, and deeply rooted in the dancefloor as a space of
connection.
