DJ, graphic artist and motion designer - with Sportmann, one creative workout follows the next. 
Born and raised in Lüneburg, he had a soft spot for electronic music from an early age. He has always been in close contact with musicians, producers and collectives, both in private circles and at work. The foundation stone was laid and with it the interest to DJ himself was not long in coming.

Sportmann sees his vocation in transforming the floor into a gym for a short time, to do sports together. And to run up to peak performances. With a soundscape characterized by numerous harmonic variations, he tries to 
hypnotize his audience, to cast a spell over them and send them on a musical journey.

22 y.o Ukrainian DJ who has been based in Berlin since 2016. Her motto is Rave.Love.Revolt. encapsulates her ethos, already signalling her approach before she even takes the stage. Her sonic identity is rooted in the hard-techno style known as Schranz, a characteristic sound prevalent from the 2000s to the 2010s.

What better way to kick off a new year than with a new project? Sure, podcasts are nothing new, but by now the Dekmantel family has grown to the point where we have a lot to shout about. The DJ collective, festival and label are all well established, but we feel we need even more outlets for all the great music we have from our extended family. As such, we are launching a new weekly series that will showcase exclusive mixes from our favourite friends and freaks, with Marcel Dettmann going first. 

Aside from being a supremely tall and long haired human being, Marcel Dettmann is of course one of the techno powerhouses behind Berghain. It is his long, seductive and firmly rooted techno sets that have made the Berlin club, and man himself, so hallowed around the world. Also a fine producer who lays down his own brand of concrete funk on labels like Ostgut Ton, 50Weapons and his own eponymous label, he inaugurates our series with a very special live recording then from New Year’s Eve 2014 at Berghain. The resulting 90 minute set is everything it should be - supple and seductive, then freaky and funky, then deliciously dark and increasingly weird towards the end, so enjoy the ride.
