The sixth release of „WHATIPLAY“, is at the same time the second release of Sascha Braemer at the young label. The original version of “Et Voilà” is already a very dynamic track and invites you to the dance floor of the club. Christoph’s remix of “Et Voilà” wants to go one better and therefore it is hard to make a decision. Luckily you don’t have to. Instead, you just listen to both of them.
Chilling melodies go hand in hand with smooth and harmonic vocals. Those are the characteristics of “Égoïst”. A track you could also enjoy literally all by yourself.

Das 6. Release von "WHATIPLAY" ist zugleich das 2.Release von Sascha Braemer auf dem jungen Berliner Label. Et Voilà lädt bereits in der Originalversion mit seiner ansprechenden Dynamik unweigerlich zum Tanzen ein und ist prädestiniert für die Dancefloors der Clubs. Christoph setzt mit seinem Remix von Et Voilà gleich noch einen drauf und es fällt schwer sich für einen Track zu entscheiden. Glücklicherweise muß man das aber auch gar nicht und tanzt einfach beide Tracks durch.
Entspannte Melodien mit einem schönen und harmonischen Vocal bestimmen den Auftritt von Égoïst, ein Track, den man in Anlehnung an seinen Namen getrost auch mal ganz allein für sich genießen kann.

Time for another successful introduction to the OFF roster. Meet the spirit of Chi Thanh, a Berlin based multi talented beat wizard who brings us an outstanding debut EP.

“Let’s Play“ starts out with infectious acoustic guitars that get in groove with a driving yet deep beat and bass combo. The vocal and lyrics encourage us to “Play The Game“ while you 'lose your brain´ in a returning club environment.

“I Like The Way“ mixes blues-steel guitars with “Johnny Cash“ - style 
vocals,adding a powerful bassline that does its thing after the breakdown while with “Heat“ Chi Thanh shows a more  club-oriented instrumental side where the focus lies on an infectious  organ bass line coupled with vibey synths and a classic house beat. Organic, acoustic real instruments, guitars, psychedelic 60s vibes meet Berlin Deep House Club Beats.

On the remix front we first have Mat.Joe, an OFF regular act, who render a proper bouncy groovy deep house version of "Let's Play" and Hive's own swiss knives Animal Trainer who craft a more trippy driving techy landscape for the track completing an amazing package.

With the backing of a legend like globetrotting Dutch DJ and producer Joris Voorn, it is only natural to expect a lot from Toronto-based producer Daniel Dubb's debut album. Luckily, Daniel delivers on those expectations, as Pieces of the Past is a thoughtful, forward-thinking take on modern dance music and has been touted as some of his most mature music to date. Tale and Tone kicks off 2018 with the Dance Spirit EP. Label heads Hoj and Lee Burridge set out to showcase music that had both story and groove, and they are continuing to do so with this release.

The duo known as Dance Spirit join the Tale and Tone fold with “Wash Me Clean”. The track meanders through a groove like it’s strolling through a meadow. There is a purity to the sound Dance Spirit have created - subtle guitars, arps and melodies playfully talk to each other while the percussion keeps things rolling. As we get lost in this perfectly constructed groove, the vocals of Cari Golden take us away.

In the Dub Mix, Dance Spirit take us somewhere completely new. This isn’t a dub that just strips away the vocals. Although the heart of the groove is still present, this is a different kind of journey, maybe to a meadow somewhere in outer space. The groove is joined by tripped out soundscapes that keep you guessing where you’re going, and what you’ll see when you get there.

Dance Spirit also gives us their “23rd Dimension Portal Remix” - an ambient affair that presents the vocals of Cari Golden from somewhere in the 23rd dimension.
