Durch die Wüste

Klong, Klong, Klong. Bei jedem Schritt trifft meine leere Wasserfalsche auf meinen Brustkorb. Dieses Geräusch ist wie die Sonne, mein ständiger Begleiter. Wie ein Trommler einer Sklavengaleere gibt sie den Takt vor. Einerseits versetzt sie mich in einen recht angenehmen Zustand der Trance. Anderseits erinnert sie mich stetig an meinen unbändigen Durst. 
Wie lange kann ein Mensch ohne Wasser überleben? Ich weiß es nicht genau, ich hoffe, ich muss es nicht herausfinden. Vor ungefähr zwei Tagen benetzte der letzte Wassertropfen meine Lippen. Seitdem ich das Dorf verließ, habe ich nichts außer Sand und Staub zu Gesicht bekommen. Ich passierte Düne um Düne. Legte Kilometer um Kilometer zurück. Nichts außer Sand und Sonne. Die Dorfbewohner beschrieben mir den Weg zu meinen Ziel. Einen Tag und eine Nacht lang gen Osten und ich sollte die Stadt ohne Namen erreicht haben. Vorausgesetzt man verläuft sich nicht. Die Sonne ist ein guter Kompass. Doch selbst der beste Kompass ist nur so gut wie sein Anwender. Meine Kapazitäten sind aufgebraucht. Völlig erschöpft und ausgelaugt, setze ich mich auf den körnigen Sandboden. Ich strecke alle Gliedmaßen von mir und lasse mich von der Sonne schmoren. Jetzt kann mich nur noch ein Wunder retten.

The sixth release of „WHATIPLAY“, is at the same time the second release of Sascha Braemer at the young label. The original version of “Et Voilà” is already a very dynamic track and invites you to the dance floor of the club. Christoph’s remix of “Et Voilà” wants to go one better and therefore it is hard to make a decision. Luckily you don’t have to. Instead, you just listen to both of them.
Chilling melodies go hand in hand with smooth and harmonic vocals. Those are the characteristics of “Égoïst”. A track you could also enjoy literally all by yourself.

Das 6. Release von "WHATIPLAY" ist zugleich das 2.Release von Sascha Braemer auf dem jungen Berliner Label. Et Voilà lädt bereits in der Originalversion mit seiner ansprechenden Dynamik unweigerlich zum Tanzen ein und ist prädestiniert für die Dancefloors der Clubs. Christoph setzt mit seinem Remix von Et Voilà gleich noch einen drauf und es fällt schwer sich für einen Track zu entscheiden. Glücklicherweise muß man das aber auch gar nicht und tanzt einfach beide Tracks durch.
Entspannte Melodien mit einem schönen und harmonischen Vocal bestimmen den Auftritt von Égoïst, ein Track, den man in Anlehnung an seinen Namen getrost auch mal ganz allein für sich genießen kann.

The Anjunadeep Edition 346 with Icarus

With twenty years spent creating house music in all its deepest forms and an impressive discography under his belt, studio head YokoO is embarking on a new venture as he launches his record label Satya this April, a project that signifies the maturing into a state of unbridled surrender to the craft. The highly anticipated first release comes as a standout VA, featuring Matthew Dekay, Zone+, Retza and YokoO himself.

Planning to release on a quarterly basis, the label founder delves into the ethos and meaning behind the project: “Satya is one of the core principles of Yoga and means commitment to the Truth. I have lived by this principle for several years now. I know that only by being true to oneself can one shine and rise to higher frequencies in this realm, and inspire others to do the same. I wish for this platform to reflect the truest expression of our creative Selves, our higher Selves. In doing so, we will help in healing the world through sonic vibrations, and contribute to a shift in consciousness. I am looking forward to promoting artists who I have developed particular bonds with and of course, providing you with music which resonates with my heart. I will not be focusing on any specific genre but rather on an authentic sound, that comes from a place of deep truth within, a sound that was created in a state of flow.”

2021 marks the re-birth into a significant new chapter of YokoO’s career, having previously released on labels including All Day I Dream, Rebellion and Kindisch. Here he kicks off proceedings with the minimal cut, Ornella. A seductive, swinging bassline is complemented with vocal stabs, trippy FX and emotive chords that interweave throughout. Dutch artist Matthew Dekay delivers another dose of skippy, minimal goodness in 1234 with a funky bass that develops into cosmic synth lines. Matthew’s releases can be found on a plethora of labels like Maeve, Innervisions, Get Weird, Aras as well as his own Fur Die Liebe.

Zone+ is a DJ and producer from Bahrain, who has released on labels like Kindisch, Anjunadeep and Sol Selectas. His track Infinite Galaxy is a beautiful space expedition like no other, with enticing and moving chords. Australia’s Retza is last up to deliver Coder, a dubby house track with an infectious and elevating presence. Previous releases can also be found on labels like All Day I Dream, Get Physical and Watergate.

2020 has been a rough year for many; this doesn’t mean 2021 has to start in the same fashion. We are excited to announce that this January Nazca Records presents a throwback to their 14th release, Signals EP by Thimble. What makes it different? Each track of this record is a remix signed by three exceptional Spanish artists: Animal Picnic, M.E.M.O. and Clemente.

This next release has at its core the value of unity and closure within the community. The Viracochas, beings of a different world and the Nazcas, lovers of art, beauty and nature have inspired Los Suruba, fathers of this label to look into their musical community, share the values of our characters with national artists, and bring light upon their creations. The Nazcas and Viracochas have taught us that there is no future without collaboration and passion, and, this new release reveals to us just that. 

The entire E.P. has intense grooves, solid drums, great melodies, ethnic notes and percussive work-outs. Animal Picnic´s remix starts in a very promising way with uplifting crescendo melodies and soft vocals. M.E.M.O. steps in with tones that are more bizarre where sophisticated synths mix with bells and percussions. Last but not least, Clemente rethinks Thimble´s track more progressively and throws in a very discrete sexy male vocal.
