What a fun night in this epic Tribeca loft. After killer sets from @karlimusik and @carmeldj I had the pleasure to close the night with my current favorite bangers. A night that required maybe a touch more indie and melodic tracks due to the acoustic of the wood beamed magnificent room. It was surely one for the books with an energy i had not felt playing in a long time, with sweaty dancing souls all round the booth and an incredible energy on the dancefloor. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you JB for the trust and to my Amaya family for this great night

“As the Temple was burning, fire tornadoes spiraled up into the new moon sky. The dust storm grew stronger and stronger. Walking through what felt like a parallel dimension, the mystical deer appeared.

I feel honored to have soundtracked this sacred moment on my favorite art car, the Maxa Xaman. This set is dedicated to those who left something in the Temple and anyone currently moving through grief. May we trust the process, feel what we need to feel, and rise from the ashes with love and courage.

Happy New Year everyone! 

2019 is necessarily going to result in some new beginnings in my life and hopefully some positive changes and evolutions for us all.

In line with my own growth, I wanted to get back to my roots of digging really deep to put together a mix that I think is dreamy, ethereal, with haunting vocals and subtle but groovy basslines.

Also, after 3 weeks of watching updates from our dear friends traveling from Vietnam to Mexico I couldn’t keep it together without sharing something with everyone!

CHAPTER II

B L A C K O U T. No sound, no light, it is total darkness on the dance floor, a complete power outage. I immediately tell myself it must be the breaker or generator. The technician appears and he start troubleshooting.

I grab my african shaker and play a little rhythm to keep people entertained. My loyal trooper friends in the DJ booth start humming a song to mask the silence.

Four, five, six minutes pass by, but it feels like an eternity. People from the crowd are slowly walking away but the people who were the most in the flow remain on the dance floor, optimistic that we will solve the problem. We conclude that the powerbar where all the DJ gear is connected is causing the breaker to shut down, with too much water leaking on it during the storm. We quickly find a replacement, unplug, replug, and turn it on again. SUCCESS! All the lights are shining and the gear is back online again. 

Decision time–  in what direction will I take this set now? Do I start where I left off, or should I build a new set? Over 10 minutes of dead silence, the energy from the previous set is completely lost. The people on the dancefloor are patiently waiting for the next chapter and I trust them immensely. 

They are troopers, music lovers, as they remained with me through the downpour. This trust allows me to take my time to rebuild a new foundation for the rest of the journey. I go into my “Intro & acoustic”  folder again and choose a record. Chapter II begins. 

I truly felt grateful for Mother Nature playing her part in this adventure by joining us on the dancefloor. I was overwhelmed with a sense of being alive and present, and I was so grateful & thankful to share this experience with these beautiful people.

Playing with my @zeroparty family is always special, but there seemed to be some magic in the air on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. Perfect weather, lots of shining smiling faces and the incredible New York City skyline. I hope you enjoy this recording as much as I did making it :)

This chapter of our existence feels like entering an unknown dimension.

Standing still, yet everything moving at the speed of light.

Connected more than ever, yet a digital solitude made of hertz and pixels.

Traveling from an abstract uncertainty towards a beam of hope and togetherness, I trust that this period of humanity will bring the change we need to be more united.

Forever grateful that music brought us together, here & now.
