No newcomer to the music scene Gene Farris started Djing when he was 17.  Gene then slide effortlessly from behind the turn table to in front of drum machines and synthesizers ….releasing his first track back in 1995 on Relief Records. Gene is one of the reasons why we have the music scene we have today.  He has worked with and learned from some of the very best….like the Chicago’s House legendary DJ ….Ron Hardy and the infamous Lil Louis. He has always known how to get crowds up on their feet and keep them there…and when he wanted to start doing the tracker side of things he began recording on Relief Records…following and sometimes leading that Chicago track tradition.
Now here we are today…some 24 years later spellbound by his newest album…THEN & NOW.   We are finding ourselves unable to turn this new album off….unable to even fast forward from one track to another.  One minute he takes us back to his early days with the heavy beats and pounding rhythm of some all time fan favorites like Sight & Sound, Perkin Hard, & Pitrippin….and the next he has catapulted us into the grimy…throbbing new cuts like My Love, Spin Cycle, & Shimmy Shimmy.

You can feel Gene’s heart and soul in each track. Debuted during Mobilee’s famed off-Sonar week to a frenzied response, French producer/live act Rodriguez Jr. delivers his first highly anticipated EP of 2015.
A renowned perfectionist, Rodriguez Jr. (AKA Olivier Mateu) has been honing his craft for 20 years. It stretches back to the Atari computer and keyboards that dominated his early production experiences, to the years spent disseminating superb on-point electronica as one half of The Youngsters on Laurent Garnier’s seminal F Communications imprint, right up until today when the artists works tirelessly to experiment with his machines in his impressive Brussels-based studio and push his sound forward. 
A mainstay of Anja Schneider’s mobilee collective since 2010, Rodriguez Jr. has been one of the jewels in the label’s crown; his effervescent live sets have made him one of the most exciting artists in his field, while his productions remain classy, catchy and always forward-thinking. 
The ‘Chrysalism’ EP sees Rodriguez Jr. tireless drive to develop his sound signature in full flight, all the while staying true to his core production principles of creating captivating, memorable electronic music.
Utilised to great effect in early stages of his recent live sets, the title track is a master class in dramatic juxtapositions and is an exquisite seven-minute composition of warm uplifting synth layers that build over a rough-edged clatter of drums delicately balancing the elements of tension and beauty on a knife’s edge. 
‘Etoile Du Nord’ (literally meaning ‘Star of the North’) is a dreamy, propulsive slice of Motor City-inspired techno and the kind you could imagine soundtracking a warehouse party at 6am as the sun begins to seep through the cracks in the corrugated iron roof. 
The EP is rounded out by ‘Kenopsia’ that evokes a kind of beautiful, eerie sense of somber as delicate layers of twinkling melody bubble over the contemplative patter of drums and the light drone of bass. 
“Going back in the studio after months of intense touring, almost one year after my 'Persistence Of Vision' EP, has resulted in strong moments of self awareness and experimentation with my machines. This is why I chose titles such as 'Chrysalism' and 'Kenopsia', describing obscure sorrows you could sometimes feel, without being able to name them,” Rodriguez Jr. explains. 
“Technically, this EP is a crucial step as it's a first attempt to define what my forthcoming album will be. I had collected lots of material while travelling, and my aim was to keep on developing my sound signature in order to emphasize the core emotions - it's been all about stripping things down, focusing on melodies and textures and, once again, finding inspiration in my deepest influences such as the early techno from Detroit.”

A few months have passed since Larry Cadge released new tracks. After remixing Gunnar Stiller and Ray Okpara’s tunes, Larry’s back with another pumping release titled “Vivian’s Kiss”. On this release Larry makes a tribute to the famous movie where the pretty Vivian sings while she is having a bath. 

The original mix is made up of highly infectious drums and a rolling baseline, with some vocal phrases by the beautiful Vivian. The atmosphere in the breakdowns becomes very chilled, without ever becoming cheesy or too melodic for the underground style. The dub mix trusts on nothing more than rhythmic drums, with a deep and stubby bass taking care of the lower frequency space, stripping down the track and keeping it to a strictly underground mood. 
Larry’s no newbie to the electronic music scene, and he proved bringing his fresh and distinctive sound on labels like Noir, Kling Klong and Great Stuff, and being followed by over 18000 music fans. 

Based in London but now operating on a global level - Smiley Fingers are an independent House and Techno record label that are pushing an extensive line of highly rated producers that are looking to fill the world with good vibes using nothing more than diverse talents in music production. Cera Alba returns to MadTech this June with the ’89 EP, comprising two original compositions, a dub interpretation and a remix from Montel.

Liam Jones, better known to most as Cera Alba has become a driving force for underground house and techno from the UK over the past few years with releases on Hot Creations, AVOTRE, Lost Records and of course Kerri Chandler’s MadTech imprint where he returns to here.

Kick starting the release is title cut ‘‘89’ which lays down a dark and brooding groove via weight percussion and bubbling dub stabs before gradually unfolding into a crescendo of bright piano chords and soul infused vocal lines. ‘Solitary Nights’ follows and retains the eerie aesthetic of the preceding record, laying the focus on menacing bass drones, tension building atmospherics and rumbling subs, while subtly evolving percussion and sporadic vocal licks ebb and flow throughout.

Montel steps in to remix ‘’89’ next, bringing shuffled rhythms, chugging bass swells and swirling delayed snippets from the original vocal and piano into the limelight to create a unique twist on the original number. A ‘Dub’ of ‘’89’ from Alba then shapes up the package.

Label boss Steve Mulder cooperated with techno legend D-Shake to make a 2016 version of one of techno's all time greatest classics 'Techno Trance'. After being road tested by the worlds greatest DJ of all time - Carl Cox, the master himself decided he wanted to do a remix for this release!! Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction.
