Another beautiful moment looped between the past, present and future at The Block Tel Aviv reminding me once again that the foundation of our scene, the club dance floor, should not be forgotten.  The night was a perfect synchronous moment between the audience and I, immersed together in warm frequencies emanating from a sound system impeccably curated by the clubs owner.  Nights like this, where we all disappear into the darkness together are what bought me to the dance floor in the first place. Here's four hours of pure modern Techno music, from my mind to yours!

"Living into music since his young age thanks to his parents, Damien Fisher has built over the years a solid culture, through black music, rock and electronic music. Settled in Spain for fifteen years, the Bristol native discovered and fell in love with the underground culture. As a result of this passion, his new EP Inner Stream drives the listener into a world of suspense, both intense, minimal, abstract, dark and percussive. 

Damien Fisher, a twenty-six-year old producer and founder of Oculus Records living in Barcelona, is exclusively dedicated to music, always looking for new sounds, new textures, new colours. “I would not describe myself as a musician or technically gifted in musical structures but my relation to music comes deep within. The feeling when certain frequencies resonate through you... This is what inspires me," he says. These low frequencies give a conductive line between the different tracks of his new EP, entitled Inner Stream. However, this does not prevent the listener from getting lost in a dark and haunting atmosphere, where the sounds gradually diffuse, cymbals and drops catching always more our curiosity. “The tracks are named after a feeling, an experience or thought process. From there the music is made. I never have an idea of what it will sound like before I sit down but I have a feeling and the sounds and frequencies in that moment that resonate through me are eventually what are laid down in the project,” he explains. For him, music is also a way of finding himself and escaping the vicissitudes of everyday life: “I consider myself to be very competitive, I like to test myself a lot of the time to exceed my own expectations. However, my mind can often be too active, so composing music allows me to be completely in the moment and that is when inspiration can really flow, when you disconnect from the craziness of our world.”

To the Damien Fisher’s four tracks are added two remixes: the first, under tension, steady pace and atmospheric vocals, was produced by Marwan Sabb, the Frenchie that nothing can stop; the second, signed by the hand of Raul Facio, is so heady that it is difficult to get rid of it! An EP to discover very soon."

‘Algorhythm‘ is the debut EP from Paris based imprint Instance Records. Label founder Moraze provides the first release with a pair of synth laden, emotive tech efforts.

‘Timeline‘ is a skeletal tech odyssey revolving around a simple synth bassline. Romanian duo NTFO provide an intricate remix for the aforementioned ‘Timeline’ indulging in choice garage percussion laid over a menacing tech tapestry. Moraze concludes the EP with ‘Primos’, a subtly menacing tech-house tool that builds to a dark crescendo.

"Moraze developed a passion for music during his childhood in Biarritz and, since then, has never looked back. As a young boy, Moraze was exposed to the link between sound and feeling at his mother’s dance school where he would spend most of his days watching the rapport between the dancers and their music. This combined with his classical training at the Maurice Ravel Academy, has allowed the developed ear of the, now, Paris resident to relish in exploring the intricate details of modern electronic music and the intersectional relationship between melody and emotion in the deeper areas of house and techno. An artist with sizeable success across his South American home, Juan Deminicis has been at the vanguard of the underground dance scene for a decade. Proton Music is therefore delighted to welcome him back with "Life on the Moon".

Hailing from the bustling, cosmopolitan Buenos Aries capital, Deminicis sought inspiration from a host of leading names including Nick Warren, James Zabiela and fellow countryman, Hernan Cattaneo. Quickly finding his feet in the clubs of his hometown and across the country, the Argentinean became an established figure with performances at Bahrein, Fruta and Club Nina.

In tandem, a production career has been no less impressive. Over 270 release credits can thus be found against the Juan Deminicis name for a plethora of high-calibre imprints including Click, Lost and Found and Sudbeat. Indeed, the "Babel" EP was a notable highlight for the Cattaneo led imprint in early 2016 as was August 2018's "Umbra" for Dutch label, Click Records.

Supported across the clubs of the world by leading lights that include Guy J, Nick Warren and John Digweed, Deminicis has been a regular on Proton Music with a 2012 debut alongside Pablo Acenso coming in the shape of "Downshifting"; the stunning "Behind the Sun" EP coming a year later. Remixed by Guy Mantzur, Khen and James Monro has kept Juan Deminicis at the cutting edge of underground dance. Returning in March 2018 to remix GMJ's "Push Through", we are privileged to welcome Juan Deminicis back to the label.

The title track is a beautifully crafted affair that evolves effortlessly over its near eight-minute voyage. Strong beat and cavernous bassline, coupled with offbeat shaker pattern, create an epic bouncing groove that lays the perfect foundation for a swathe of analogue melodies to shimmer and sparkle in freeform patterns. Full of dancefloor credentials, delay and reverb create a spacious effect that truly gives rise to "Life on the Moon".

Partner track, "Tao the King" immediately makes its mark with huge bouncing bassline and techno rhythm. Redolent in white-noise effects, a sublime motif filters into sonic range as an analogue lead fills the airwaves with crystal clarity and an updated retro vibe creates a series of textured layers that resonate with Vangelis and a rich sci-fi scoundscape. Hitting its stride in the third movement with detuned arpeggio, the resultant track is a modern sonic masterpiece.

With two new tracks forming a new musical landscape, Juan Deminicis can be rightfully proud of "Life on the Moon".
