Infusing sultry sounds and rich grooves, is Soul Button's latest EP ʻSwift Mindsʼ. It's his first Steyoyoke release for 2014 and once again, it's those soaring melodies and uplifting vibes that will have every deep house lover feeling satisfied in no time. Comprising of two originals and two remixes from up and comers Dahu and Whomi, it is with no surprise that ʻSwift Mindsʼ is launched with much anticipation.

The title track ʻSwift Mindsʼ is both vibrant and bold, bringing with it a strong sense of great depth and beauty. Possessing a steady bass line and deep haunting riffs, it is also delicately laced with the lullaby styled vocals of Kara Square. The power behind her voice, literally draws you in and attunes your ears to a chorus of divine whispers.

ʻ7th Heavenʼ is quickly defined by it's intensity and subtle progression. Creating a solid backdrop of uplifting grooves, this track has the presence and strength to put a spell on you. Stabbing synths and hard hitting hats are complimented perfectly with an array of harmonious bells and chimes which wash over you like a melodic wave.

In a mirrored parallel of ʻSwift Mindsʼ, Whomi's remix maintains all the sultry characteristics of it's original. However it is a much punchier version, allowing for some of the tracks more unique features to surface. Expect darker soundscapes and intricately layered percussion.

The final track on ʻSwift Mindsʼ is Dahu's remix of ʻ7th Heavenʼ. Silver lined with authentic underground sounds, Dahu chooses a slightly more stripped back approach for this remix. Raw dark melodies and hefty bass lines are the key elements in revealing this tracks inner twisted elegance.

Bridging the gap between Berlin and Ibiza, Eagles & Butterflies the English-born artist has been showing up on an increasing amount of radars for the past couple years now, gaining support from Dixon, Amê, John Digweed, Tale Of Us and many more. Now he’s just completed his second studio album, an 11 track work titled ‘Abstract’. From the first notes of the opening track, ‘We Get High (feat. J.U.D.G.E)’ is a darker shade of beautiful. The track gently slides into position before the vocals hit, giving an almost melancholic feel and opening the album on a kind of sentimental note.

Then with ‘Colours of Arps,’ Eagles & Butterflies captivates us with arpeggios, warm synths and a warm atmosphere. The use of arpeggiators is wide spread throughout, becoming the thread that ties the album together. The album’s third track shifts quickly from the warm and sunny vibes to a darker, cooler place somewhere deep in the late Mediterranean nights. But the sun does rise and ‘Same Place Same Time’ gives us our first dose of club music. Next ‘Colours’ spreads its wings with its deep basslines and eerie, electrically charged atmosphere. We take a turn for organic percussion in the aptly titled, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ as Eagles & Butterflies takes us on a guided tour through the forests of House music.

One thing is for certain regarding ‘Abstract’, the only constant is diversity. As we near the midway mark, Eagles & Butterflies has managed to bring an astounding amount of styles and genres together, cohesively and naturally. ‘Textures’ draws its inspiration from a more technoid direction, while still maintaining a bouncy, House vibe. As does ‘The Secret Garden’, chugging along, building a soft tension that gets melted by the elegant ‘Sounds Of Colours’. ‘Sounds of Colours’ takes its time to blossom, but when it does we are greeted with delicate rays of sunlight that pierce through the grey and stormy skies. A solid, beautiful piece of music.

One of the last three remaining tracks feature vocals from J.U.D.G.E again, whose voice beautifully reflects the mood and ambience while delivering massive amounts of emotion to ‘So Long’. ‘So Long’ is the easily one of the most effortlessly-danceable tracks on the album, bringing a solid groove, addictive vocals and warm tones delicately together. Ending the album on a high note, ‘Black Canvas’ is like springtime, fresh, warm and full of life.

About the EP => 
Back and fresh on the release circuit for 2k18 is Berlin-based Jose Antonio Garcia Soler, better known to his friends and followers by his artistic nom de guerre KID SIMIUS. The KID proudly presents his FLASHBACK EP, a heartwarming monster of a single featuring no-one less than the beloved band outfit KILNAMANA comprised of Enda Gallery and KID SIMIUS' brother Miguel Garcia Soler. With the original version of Flashback KID SIMIUS and KILNAMANA present a tender, yet highly emotional slow jam, a modernistic take on contemporary Future R'n'B and Urban Soul accompanied by epic synth leads, a sparse electronic and surely beatmaker influenced foundation. It's electrifying chorus touches hearts from deep within. On a remix tip for Flashback is NICONE. The German producer who's been stirring up dancefloors throughout the past decade with releases on labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Katermukke and his very own imprint Dantze. His take on Flashback beams us straight to the very center of a buzzing dancefloor, implementing a warm yet hypnotic feel to his musical interpretation whilst sending punters to a next lexel of ecstasy with large scale build-ups and crystalline synth lines.
