El Nido, a place unlike others, the place where this track was crafted. Over many nights and days,
Perspectiv and Kostiya welded this piece with live recordings of an imbira imported straight from
Mozambique.
It is a classic, it is melodic and it offers the styles of Perspectiv & Kostiya in one cohesive form. Perspectiv
and Kostiya had played a number of shows together and their styles seemed to have always had the
party going, just like on the dance floor, their skills in the studio indeed compliment one another.
Perspectiv is a duo from Mozambique currently in Vancouver and Kostiya is a Russian born, Hong Kong
raised artist currently living in Hong Kong. In 2021 the artists managed to live in the same household in
Vancouver, during that time they got busy making music for the first time ever, what came out of it is what
you hear right here.
The track El Nido is part of Beatsolow’s second various artists album, it is being hosted as an NFT for
purchase with a limited number of copies, found on mintbase.io. This effort brings the digital format of
music closer to the one of vinyl, where scarcity is restored and the exclusivity of music and the time spent
to make it is brought to light once again, in a world with an abundant amount of digital releases, we need
to strive to make people understand that the time spent making this music is as valuable as any other
effort.

On the flip we have a remix by Katermukke boss Dirty Doering who made the Original track more floor based, fitting better to peak time DJ sets. Nomadism Records invites Octavian (Podcast 09)

"Lūžis" is my latest EP which combines musical elements from separate worlds. 

The title track (with the title meaning "Turning point" or "Fracture" in Lithuanian) has multiple meanings for me. From chronological perspective it embarks a period of a certain breakthrough in my process of music making. From artistic perspective the track is about the awareness about our world slowly breaking into pieces. The latter idea is also being reflected on the cover art of this release.

The heartbeat of the track is a relentless, heavy rhythmic guitar riff which is accompanied by warm and groovy bass line that weaves throughout the composition and provides a solid base for the rest of the elements. Tension and atmosphere is brought by a prolonged swell lead melody that I've played and recorded live with an analog synthesiser. I look into this track as an experimental combination of several diverse musical influences that I listen to on a daily basis.

Release also contains "Nemigos mix" ("Insomnia mix" in lithuanian), which is an alternative take on the track. In the past I've had certain periods of insomnia. One night when I couldn't sleep I've got an idea to try and make a techno version of "Lūžis". This idea came fully incorporated - even before trying to write anything down I could already hear how this track sounds in it's final form. The problem was that I had just a little reference of what sound I was going for. Despite that, the next day I wrote and arranged this version with keeping the key elements from the original track, which were the guitar riff, synth swell lead and the chord progression. "Nemigos mix" has more energy which comes from the rumbling rhythm, synth bass, stabbing synth and white noise shots. It was certainly a fun experience trying something else.
