A welcome returning figure to the Meanwhile Roster, Mike Rish is no stranger to success. With numerous cross-genre hits under multiple aliases, his own name sees him reach rarefied heights in the Progressive House genre with work signed to Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Guy J’s Lost & Found and Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music.

December 2021 saw a Meanwhile debut with the sublime 3-track “Beyond” EP, while April 2023 witnessed a standout reworking of Jamie Stevens’ “Storm Front”. Returning for a second outing, his latest triple tracker opens with the funky rhythmic backdrop of “GT”. Using an intricate percussive arrangement to provide a club-friendly foundation, a swathe of stereo-panned textures and synth effects meander across the opening movements, accompanied by delay-infused vocal cuts. A smooth arpeggio adds a touch of traditional progressive drive at the breakdown and beyond, while a further synth motif blossoms in the second half to sit alongside the rasping and explosive bassline.

Continuing the effects-laden narrative, “Shoreditch Funk” quickly makes its mark with a woodblock infused percussive top-line. Stereo-panned pads and saw-tooth synths pulsate in dizzying fashion while a grooved bassline adds dancefloor ‘funk’. A cascading arp makes its presence felt, pitching in freeform oscillator glory at the break, before continuing unabated in detuned fashion throughout the second half. The result is a vibrant sonic collage that bristles with verve and innovation.

The final track witnesses another meticulously conceived rhythmic arrangement throughout “Reka”, with a subtle bass sequence providing dancefloor sensibilities alongside a heavy 4/4 beat. An acetylene-torch lead mesmerises with its glissando phrasing while a glassy motif combines with gently pulsing pads that swim enticingly in smooth juxtaposition. Continuing themes redolent in previous outings, a beautifully imagined synth phrase syncopates in exquisitely cadenced rhythm alongside percussive counterparts. “Reka” then evolves into a delicately conceived melodic jewel in the latter stages.

“GT / Shoreditch Funk / Reka” continues to find Mike Rish very much at the leading edge of modern and pioneering Progressive House.

Now making his first appearance on Proportion, “On Waves” is an elegantly imagined offering that opens with a heavy beat, crisp rhythmic shell and cadenced clave pattern. A muted arpeggio weaves its magic as sumptuous pads and evolving sonic textures create a dense and swirling atmosphere. White-noise sequences pulsate at the breakdown as motifs extend their reach before snare rolls and pitched risers herald a return to the club-friendly combination of rhythm and melody in the second half.   Riding high, Kostya Outta is “On Waves” with his stunning new music for Proportion.'

Following on from the summer success of 'Jailed in a Cell', Till The Sunrise welcomes Hernan Cattaneo and Jamie Stevens to remix NOIYSE PROJECT's 2022 hit 'Remember Me'. With eighteen months passed since NOIYSE PROJECT's Till The Sunrise imprint unveiled it's first release, we've yet to see any other artists other than  NOIYSE PROJECT himself on the label. This creative swell of what has primarily been single track offerings, has seen the beloved Sri Lankan rise into the #1 spot in Beatport's Best Selling Hype artists, a position which has been reserved for just a select few across the last two calendar years. With many progressive music fans wondering when or if Till The Sunrise would open it's doors to new artists on the label, NOIYSE PROJECT has done it and in the grandest fashion with Hernan Cattaneo & Jamie Stevens turning in a must have rendition of 'Remember Me'. 

Needing little introduction and simply known as the maestro, Hernan Cattaneo is one of the world’s most beloved DJs and his Sudbeat Music imprint is widely regarded as one of the best in its field. With a career that spans over three decades, Hernan Cattaneo has recorded eleven albums, thirty singles and fifty remixes, all while touring the world delighting passionate music lovers with his impeccable taste and exquisite programming skills. Meanwhile, Australian artist Jamie Stevens has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his three-decade long career. As one of his country’s most talented and sought-after artists, Jamie has proven his skill in professional sound design, film scores and contemporary electronic music. Prolific and consistent in equal measure, Jamie has enjoyed a creative swell in recent years, landing releases via Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, John Digweed’s Bedrock Records and Guy J’s Lost & Found. Although both Hernan and Jamie do find themselves in collaborations with other artists on a regular basis, the legendary pair have only collaborated once prior to this, on an unofficial remix of Pink Floyd's 'Breathe', making their take on 'Remember Me' their first officially released production, and what a fine remix it is.
