Toby Simpson readies his debut release for Jamie Jones’ Hottrax with the three-track ‘Fulfilled Fantasy EP’.

Owner and resident at the Liverpool-based party Express, Toby Simpson’s music has picked up support from the likes of Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, and Marco Carola, even before dropping an official release. Now readying his first EP for Jones’ revered Hottrax imprint, the DJ/producer from Merseyside brings three bumping tracks. 

Across the release, Simpson draws for heavy low-end, skipping drums, and vocal chops for three club-ready tracks. From the trippy FX on ‘Feedback’, the rumbling basslines of ‘SuBBazz’, through to the mammoth samples on ‘Sugar’, the EP is a considered package sure to set dancefloors on fire all summer and beyond.

On the rise, Peruvian DJ/producer Ammo Avenue has been making waves with high-energy releases on labels such as Kaluki, Revival New York, and Black Book Records, catching the attention of industry idols including Joseph Capriati, Archie Hamilton, The Martinez Brothers and Hot Since 82. Fresh from his collaboration ‘The Come Up’ with Maxinne on Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters, he now adds an exciting label debut to his resume as he lands on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Creations with 'Serial Chiller' - delving into the intricacies of love through three dynamic house tracks. 

“This EP is about the game of love. It shows the different stages of being connected to someone. ‘Hide And Seek’ talks about that first feeling of attraction, the courtship behind meeting someone and trying to decipher their intentions. ‘Keep Me Waiting’ follows with the counterpart. The duality of caring for a specific situation but not having the right kind of answers. ‘Serial Chiller’, the lead tune, lastly carries the message of finding peace, taking a deep breath and showing up to the next party looking for something funky to happen. - Ammo Avenue 

The punchy ‘Serial Killer’ leads the release with bouncing beats, crisp percussion and funky sonics that escalate to energetic bliss. Then comes ‘Hide And Seek’, diving into a deeper groove with striking chords and captivating vocal snippets for a robust late-night hitter. To close, ‘Keep Me Waiting’ delivers another punch-packing house number with funk-driven synth stabs and unparalleled energy, making it a standout for all summer playlists.

An artist who understands groove, Nicola Gavino’s sound echoes vintage flavours with distinct funky and fresh rhythms. His summer has been a busy one, with performances at the likes of Kappa FuturFestival and his long-running residency at Turin’s Audiodrome Club, plus releases on Dennis Cruz and Eddy M’s MÜSE imprint, SOSA’s label COCO, and more. Now, as he steps out on Jamie Jones’ revered Hot Creations for the first time, the Italian talent puts his best foot forward across three peak-time house cuts inspired by the label boss himself.

“The main track was inspired by a video of Kappa's mainstage in 2022 recorded from a friend's phone. Jamie was playing this glitched edit of Sweet Dreams (which I only found more than a year later) which really blew my mind. I watched it so many times that I felt the need to make something myself, recreating and exaggerating that special vibe. The track being. chosen by Jamie himself for Hot Creations is more than a goal and an honour for me; it is about paying respect to a label and a DJ who always inspired me and which I look up to.” - Nicola Gavino

With its sharp synths, feel-good trumpets and deep driving bassline, the spirit of Chicago house is present in opener ‘Givin’ My Love’. Next, ‘Lazer Tool’ offers a more modern minimal sound, rich with percussion and distorted SFX. Closing out the EP, ‘Pump Up’ combines elements from the first two tracks with cutting percussive kicks, warping distorted vocals and a grooving hypnotic bass that’s destined for the dancefloor.

Rising newcomer Jholeyson makes a stunning debut on Hot Creations with Discow, a fantastic two track release that draws inspiration from an eclectic range of musical genres.

The 12” begins with the title track Discow. A high-tempo house number, tinny hi hats merge with whip-like kicks, as an infectious vocal gives way to a pumping, four-to-the-floor drop. Plenty rounds off the release in a minimal, pulsing fashion. A squeaking, electronic bassline couples with soft bloops and subtle keys, as soft build ups lead into gently-changing crescendos.

Jholeyson is beginning to make real waves in the scene. Having produced standout releases for the likes of Posh Records, Harvibal and 1994 Music, it was in 2018 that the young upstart launched his own imprint: Sticker Music. Fast forward a year and the Discow EP marks another strong milestone in Jholeyson’s ever-flourishing career.
