Select Cuts 304: Parallelle

This is a large portion of my 12 hour set at Stereo Montreal on September 28, 2024, my longest solo set ever. Missing are the first 2 hours, which I cut for better overall flow, as well as the last hour, which was not recorded as my recorder ran out of battery power.

To me, Stereo represents the absolute top of electronic music clubs worldwide. It is one of the few places that gives DJs the canvas to play long sets under near optimal conditions - an amazing sound system, great monitors, beautiful and subtle lighting and - last but not least - a knowledgeable, demanding and unified crowd.

Carlos A's first album has a special meaning, it is 22 tracks divided into 2 releases, the first part is an interpretation of groove and emotions from which a white heart is born which is dedicated to a special person in his life, an album that shows the growth of the artist for more than two decades of work on the world scene, a contribution to the electronic culture of which its meaning is a little beyond the normal, very underground serious music that represents many artists who come from effort and humility, remember that Carlos is Chilean, a country from which his genre is somewhat difficult to accept, but at the same time the artist interprets well the sound he wants to achieve, very progressive and minimalist sounds with dark tech house touches always linked to the darkness that is reflected in his outfits and gigs
