Adisyn blesses Kindisch once again with a stunning two-tracker, ‘MORPH’. Allowing his multi-faceted production style room to breathe, Adisyn is another outlet for American producer Matt Postrel. Steering the ship well into deep-house territory, Adisyn reveals a slow cooked wonder of a title track, flowing with touching harmonies and dreamy synth layers. The piece evokes images of the twilight hours, not quite after yet no longer main-time, a golden and fragile moment in a set that showcases MORPH beautifully. ‘Nova’ continues in a similar fashion, with dreamy lines woven across a deep and tactile percussive bed; gentle yet steady with a warming glow that lures us deep into its sonic scenery.

Following on from his acclaimed remix of Dubfire featuring Carl Craig, Berlin-based Tibi Dabo returns to Crosstown Rebels with Disbelieve. It marks the first of three EP’s to be released on Damian's label this year, ahead of a much-anticipated debut album in October.

The EP begins with the rolling sounds of Disbelieve. Chugging along with a gently changing bassline, the lead synth reverberates alongside whispering hats and wonderfully emotive keys, before Tibi Dabo showcases his heavier side with Hire The Birds. Beginning with a pummelling kick, we are soon introduced to a mysteriously echoing vocal that winds into a melodic, celestial-like drop. Dj Balduin rounds off the release with a subtle, yet similarly hard-edged rendition of the second track. Up-tempo and incredibly danceable, synths shimmer alongside pumping drums and ethereal, bell-like chimes.

No stranger to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, young Max Guardans AKA Tibi Dabo has carved out a sound that is wise beyond his years. At just twenty-three the Barcelona native has already remixed Damian himself, on last year’s Diamond In The Dark re-release, a testament to his skill and dexterity as a producer, whilst his previous full-length productions on Crosstown showcase the breadth of his ever growing sound. Dj Balduin has already made a significant impact in the electronic music scene, with an album already under his belt as well as a debut release last year on leading melodic techno label Kompakt.

Tibi Dabo returns to Crosstown Rebels with his second EP of the year The Distance We Share. His third EP will follow in the Autumn in advance of his debut album forthcoming in 2021. Globally revered American producer David Morales turns in two outstanding remixes that demonstrate contrasting aspects of his illustrious career.

The Distance We Share sees beautiful melodies standing both individually and combined to create an ethereal atmosphere. Starting with golden keys that drop into a twinkling lullaby, rising and falling throughout the track before ending with danceable energy. Komorebi opens with melancholic chords, the bassline moves at a relaxed pace over a rhythm of hi-hats and cowbell, sensual distorted vocals and delicate chimes induce a feeling of romance. The first remix of Komorebi from David Morales sees him add his legendary Red Zone stamp of New York influenced house music, building tension with darker tones, chugging percussion and hypnotic loops. On the Diridim Mix Morales turns the vibe to that of his newest label, with classic soulful electronics adding a deep sense of warmth.

Still in its infancy, the Tibi Dabo project from Max Guardans has seen his unique emotive take on electronic music and sound design catch the attention of influential figureheads. His debut release the Ende EP on Sasha's Last Night on Earth imprint demonstrating his remarkable talent. With his determined attitude and unrelenting thirst for exploration impressing respected tastemaker Damian Lazarus, he was immediately signed to Crosstown Rebels. His last two EP’s Her Moon and Disbelieve on the imprint, initiating a run of unrelenting form that marks the start of big things to come.

It made sense, therefore, to start our musical journey through the four seasons in this most-cherished period of the year: the summer. 

Across this VA, we have collected a group of tracks that shimmer and buzz with the energy of long, brilliant nights under the stars, but which also capture the unhurried calm of a balmy, carefree summer’s afternoon.
