This concept track was created by Warren Nichols and Monica Phelps of Disconnect Collective. My piano riff bore the initial title of "miss persuasion" and has since been written into another original of mine, "Meant 2B". This version, however, was the result of an overnight electronic writing binge, and due to my insistence upon hearing the tone that the thematic solo instrument produced, was christened "Yoshi's Wet Dream". Hey, yoshi's aren't just for jumping higher and eating critters. Yoshi needs love too!

I wrote this ages ago. 2011. On a crappy laptop sporting Windows 2000 and Fruity Loops. Never did anything else with it...would love for someone to collaborate with a rap artist...for now, enjoy the spooky concept. Rollin' Sevens, NW Georgia goodtime classic rock and roll hits band, covers "Both Hands on the Wheel", originally by southern soul group Whiskey Dixie, live at Canton Icehouse. Featuring original Whiskey Dixie member Warren Nichols on vocals and burning up the b3 tone wheels, the great drummer Steve Pace putting the pedal down and both sticks to skin, budding new bassist Hannah Nichols drives Collin Parker's bass lines with conviction, and Billy Bosler of Georgia Red Clay torques strings on acoustic guitar while original Whiskey Dixie guitarist Jacob Parker hits the ignition and sends it.

This is something I just randomly recorded the other night using my iPhone voice notes... the dogs -Zoe and Gunther- joined in halfway through, and I tagged the chorus from one of my original songs onto the end. It's rough and messy... but I kinda like it that way!

I'm uploading this song in memorial of David Bowie (He passed away recently). This is the very FIRST song I ever wrote and recorded, circa January 2008. A folksy heartsong. I thought this tune up only a few hours ago, immediately wrote down the lyrics, and enlisted a friend to play guitar so I'd have a nice little reference recording... and I like it so much I want to go ahead share it with you :) Special thanks to Hannah Miller, for sitting in a graveyard at midnight and strumming guitar for me! (It was actually very peaceful, lol, not creepy at all)
