Asgore swaps with Toriel. This old guy is gardener, and protector of both humankind, and monsterkind. Just wants peace, after the cold, horrible war. He is big, and has much power than anyone, but in his soul, he is a nice guy!

I think I owe an explanation as to why I never uploaded anything in over a year. To make it short, I lost a lot of motivation to continue working on this thing, and left it dead for a while as I had to deal with a lot of stuff in my personal life. It wan't until recently, going back through the sound files of the unreleased songs, that I re-gained any motivation to at least finish this, even if nobody is still around to listen to it haha. Anyways, I thought Undertale's 6th Anniversary would be a good time to retake this thing and dedicate to it again so...

THE HAUNTED KINGDOM is a roleswap AU centered around a kingdom of monsters trapped underneath a veil of darkness. Hearing legends of this haunted world, a brave human falls down into the kingdom and must brave the challenges ahead of them.

Napstablook takes the role of Asgore. They are the apathetic, lonely ruler of the underworld kingdom, but it wasn’t always like that.
They had high spirits long ago and ruled the kingdom happily with their cousin and former king (who later became Mettaton). After a tragedy involving the royal family’s friends led to a fallout between the cousins, Napstablook was forced to take the throne. Now they’re trying to fulfill the kingdom’s greatest desire: freedom from the land of shadows and revenge on humanity.
Many monsters speak of Napstablook in high regard, but others feel they don’t have it in them to free monsterkind. Considering they rarely, if ever, leave their palace, it’s possible they want to avoid disappointing their people by revealing their true feelings about humanity. Their internal struggle causes them more grief the longer it continues, and the more human SOULs are taken, the more pain they’ll feel at the end result.
