We are rather delighted to welcome one of our favourite DJ duos to the ITI mix series! Milanese gentlemen, and now full-time Berliners, Younger Than Me have been on our radar tearing up dance-floors and releasing fantastic productions for a couple of years, with their remix of I'll Never Reach Your Level by Shun being a standout highlight in the ITI back catalogue! 

The boys treat us to an hour of electronic rumblings from the (much missed) dance-floor, touching on classic breakbeat, acid, techno, rave, house etc.. all the while with that inimitable YTM flair.

Cabezas’ new EP “Raya” is a distillation of the conversations that have shaped him over the last decade. From the Danceteria-ready sheen of “Madonna” to the nocturnal-italo pulse of “Sergio”, Cabezas covers a wide swath of sonic ground, starting in almost-familiar places and spiraling out into the unknown. 

This is Cabezas’ second EP, following up his 2018 Börft Records release Mi Calle. 

Born in Chile and living in Sweden, Patricio Cabezas is a multi-talented musician/producer. After years as a touring bass player, he re-com- mitted himself to electronic music, trading his pickups for a circuit board in search of the boundaries of sound. 

Since childhood Cabezas has thrown himself into the in-between. With a life of hybrid timezones, cultures and identities, his approach to music is similarly liminal. Driven by discovery and experimentation, Cabezas hybridizes genres, themes and instrumentation to create electronic music that lives on the edge, built for the mains, headphones and everywhere in between.

Like a predator stalking its prey, she surveyed the room with her piercing blue eyes, looking for a potential suitor to hold her attentions for the evening. Her reputation preceded her but her beauty was so much so that it blinded them all to the hair raising tales told about her. How could one so graceful, one so poised and elegant be capable of such things? As far as they were concerned, if she wanted them, she was welcome to them.

Four years after the release of their acclaimed debut LP 'An Animal Orchestra' for Inside Out Records, producers Stavros Potamitis & Constantinos Parisinos AKA After Altamont call on the skills of several talented artists to reimagine the tracks from the release. After Altamont is the band alias of Stavros Potamitis & Constantinos Parisinos, a project that focusses on a blend of psychedelic rock, Greek folk influences, soulful dub and dark tinged techno, with the main creative focus relying on analog machines, live instrumentation and recorded vocals. Following the original release of the 2016 “An Animal Orchestra”, this psychedelic album is re-imagined by a collection of artists and friends who focus on a slower, hypnotic, more transcendental grooves. MR TC starts of the remix pack with a majestic version of Scoring for Fools. Tolouse low Trax experiments with vocal samples, silence and slow percussions to conjure a trademark dark, devilish recreation of Three Men Down. A Strange Wedding takes us to alien outer space with his version of “Scoring for Fools”. Gina Breeze and Zombies in Miami provide us with more club ready re-imaginations of “K Band feat Shawni” and “Lost Little Girl feat Fiona McMartin”. The album comes to a close with an ethnic, psy-trance trademark Anatolian Weapons remix.

fortunea starts their 2021 release schedule with a new 4 tracker this February. Peletronic is featured on this record and he shows again his love for detail.

‚About The Void‘ is a composition with an arc of suspense. The eerie pads and
strings are in control by an imposing hypnotic groove that will guide the listener to the dancefloor.

As a guest remixer they hired none other than Stuttgart’s deep house expert
Soulphiction. His take on the title track is placed on A2 and uses the elements of the original in a clever way. The groove is even more thrilling. And a female vocalist gives the track a femme fatale like character.

Peletronic delivers us his lo-fi house ‚Experience‘ on the B-side. Of course with a typical 909 kick drum, shuffled hihats and a purposely raw filtered jazz sample in loop. Intringuingly and playful likewise. 

At last the record ends with the track ‚Paixão‘, which means „passion“ in portuquese. And you can clearly hear his passion for experimental latin influenced dub house in here.

The record is limited to 300 copies. There will be no repress! First come, first serve.

Imagine music that is as insisting as it it curious?! C.O.U. is back with an EP leaning on the Interrobang, the lesser known combination of a question mark and an exclamation point. It starts with the TRACK ID, a song about wondering about which track is played at a club, or maybe at some online event? It continues with tracks equally enjoyable for listening and dancing: faux-oriental disco, concerned boogie-funk, a cosmic take on the legendary Sleng Teng-riddim and finally a balkan-inspired track partly generated by Articial Intelligence.
The Center of the Universe is an artist who mainly, but not only works with music and sound.
The band, which is a solo project (hence the name) has released nearly 20 full length albums, plenty of remixes and also works for films, theathre and sound art.
Following along with the Interrobangerz are videos to all five of them: these are not made for promotion but are meant as works in their own right. In fact it's the other way around; the music is supposed to promote the videos! PREMIERE #1456 | Center Of The Universe - Cosmic Sleng Teng [Metronomicon Audio] 2021

While the German producer Martin Matiske averages a new release under his given name every few years, there was a long stretch of time in which sightings of his Blackploid alias were much more rare. After dropping an EP for Frustrated Funk in 2006, fans found further material hard to come by over the next decade or so. However, Matiske has reinvigorated Blackploid in recent times, with the project making a few compilation appearances and dropping a couple of EPs across 2020.
That run now culminates in Cosmic Traveler, a four-track affair which marks Matiske’s debut appearance on Sheffield’s Central Processing Unit. Given the long wait, it’s great just to see Blackploid back among the fray once again. But for the project’s CPU curtain-raiser to be an EP of such high-quality techno jams? Now that really is spoiling us.
Cosmic Traveler’s title nods towards the sort of stargazing aesthetics one finds in classic Detroit techno. However, while there are undoubtedly ties to the Motor City in this music, the record ultimately steers less towards spacious atmospherics and more towards the taut, lean machine-funk of seminal practitioners like Dopplereffekt.
Matiske sets his stall out from the off. Opener ‘Electric Engine’ begins with a run of stiff-necked 808 kicks before hissing hi-hats, a grizzly bassline and all manner of futuristic sounds enter to warp the tune into hyperspace. Following cut ‘Night Drive’ repeats the trick of ‘Electric Engine’ but adds a pleasingly dinky synth lead in order to nudge itself slightly towards bleep-techno territory.
The two cuts on Cosmic Traveler’s B-side are pure late-night goodness, a pair of mid-set heaters primed for dark basements. ‘Pleasure Activism’ delivers on the promise of its title and then some, pushing the Kraftwerk template to extremes by bringing a load of gnarly synth lines into play over a wobbling acidic chug. Finally, EP closer ‘The Race’ is reminiscent of both the twisted machine-funk of Gerald Donald’s Japanese Telecom project and the playful modern evolutions of artists like fellow CPU high-flyer Jensen Interceptor.
The resurgence of Martin Matiske’s Blackploid project continues with Cosmic Traveller, an EP of timeless electro-funk and techno.
