Nuevo estreno del prometedor Drum Tales, Distorted Faces.

Drum Tales es un productor musical relativamente nuevo en la escena alternativa de Lituania. Están a punto de lanzar su primer EP llamado "Distorted Faces" el 28 de Agosto, a través del sello discográfico Good Skills. Este EP consta de tres canciones originales que son muy diversas en cuanto a estilo y sonido. Además, incluye remezclas realizadas por artistas destacados como Autarkic y Zillas on Acid, lo que añade un toque adicional de emoción y anticipación al lanzamiento. 

Por nuestra parte estrenamos Distorted Faces, un sonido disco krauterizado con elementos rockeros.

Field of Dreams is Al Mackenzie, a part-time pop star with D:Ream & full-time DJ and musician who also runs his own Retroforward nights, and graphic designer Chris Kentish from Field Theory, who has released on Futureboogie and Secret Life. They have worked together since 2017 on the likes of Pleasure Unit & Tici Taci and received big plaudits for their remix of Les Crocodiles' classic 'La Nuit Des Tropiques', including from the late Andrew Weatherall who went on to remix the pair. Following support on Radio 6 Music and a hiatus during the pandemic, they are now back with a deeper and edgier sound than previous outings. "Perhaps a sign of things to come, perhaps not," say the ever-evolving pair who like to keep fans guessing.

Opener 'Into The Sun' is a scintillating mix of deep rolling house grooves and authentic machine soul. The far-sighted chords and twinkling pads make for a reverential mood that draws you in for an emotional ride. The title track is a slow-motion workout with elastic bass and subtle acid lines under muttered vocals. It's hazy and lo-fi like all the best Detroit house.

The magnificent 'Mind Over Matter' is another timeless deep house sound with layer upon layer of synth warmth, cosmic radiance and perfectly dusty analogue grooves that work both body and mind. 'Into The Night' builds towards the peak of the party with more driving drums and pulsing acid that keeps you on edge and 'Mind Field' then cuts loose on more ramshackle and percussive house grooves with plenty of lush signature synth work from Field Of Dreams.

This emotive and immersive EP is a perfect return for this masterful pair.

Windy Plains was the very first track produced for this album and according to Ly Sander probably the most characteristic one. It is built around the very specific double bass played by founder of the Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp’s own Vincent Bertholet. An early version of the album contained almost solely tracks stemming out of this collaboration. The current version is a mix with solely Windy Plains, Transcontinental Hippies and Our Spirit Runs Deep left. Nevertheless, the ultimate strength of Vincent Bertholet resides in his ability to build very unique atmospheres on the fly. Yep, all three tracks were recorded out of improvisation in the same session. A swiss invented percussive instrument completes the atmosphere, the hang!
