'The first release of 2023 on Damon Jee’s imprint Dust & Blood comes by French duo Kimshies and once again, the guys show what they can do best, explosive indie dance and dark disco for the dancefloor.

Long-time friends and collaborators Peo Watson and Mika Frojman have returned with the latest in a string of releases following their reunion in 2018. After a twelve-year break, the French duo decided to team up again when their 2004 undercover vinyl only tune was brought back into the limelight during one of Solomun’s sets. Since their rebirth, they’ve more than made up for lost time with powerful releases on exclusive labels such as Aeon, Duro and Ombra. Their new offering ‘Blue Planet’ is an intricate and futuristic five-tracker that showcases their unique technical talent and eclectic influences.

The sci-fi-inspired title track invites the listener to dive in head first, setting the tone with its ebb and flow of intricately wrought layers. Urgent stabs combine with a relentless beat and distorted, echoing whispers in a surreal fever dream.

‘Cortex Five Senses’ then brings a retro touch with its driving synth line and unpredictable sound, building up into an explosion of tension as seductive yet almost pleading vocals bleed into each other in a desperate dialogue.

It’s followed by ‘Trapped’ (featuring Erick Faulkner), an intense track that evokes a feeling of unrest and panic with ominous lyrics backed by an aggressive rhythm and urgent sirens.

The electric and evocative ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ switches up the vibe with hypnotic riffs straight out of a classic Western movie and a heady, electrifying bassline that runs throughout, perfectly underlining the enigmatic female vocals.

The release wraps up with ‘Coming Out’, an eerie stomper of a track that takes the listener into unfamiliar territory, with distant, almost robotic voices seeping through looming alien sounds and a hard beat.
This unpredictable EP never releases its grip, masterfully building tension from the get-go to leave you breathless and wanting more. Set to be released on April 7th via Damon Jee’s uncompromising and cosmic Dust & Blood imprint.'

Tel Aviv-based artist Yotam Russo (formerly known as Lott) signs to Local Suicide’s label Iptamenos Discos and announces  his new ‘Twilight Zone Disko’ EP which will be out May 26th, 2023 on limited clear vinyl & digital. 
The 3-tracker is the Israelis most mature release to date and perfectly showcases his unique approach to modern electronic  dance music. Being known for his fusion of heavy drum machines with psychedelic guitars, acid melody-hooks and catchy  vocals he creates a rich spectrum of sound that takes listeners on a journey through a range of emotions and genres.Over time, he has cultivated a distinct style characterized by by an optimistic and upbeat vibe that is both nostalgic and contemporary. In this EP he expands his creative expression by adding meaningful text that resonates with his audience, making his music a powerful vehicle for storytelling. Whether this be via performing live or in the studio, Russo innovatively blends genres from Indie Dance, Synthpop, Dark Disco to House & Acid often referring to bands like LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax or The Faint. 
The EP’s title track & first single ‘Twilight Zone Disko‚ is a punk approach to disco, with distorted vocals, and hypnotic synths,  it aims to make the listener feel like they’re never alone on the dance floor. The track’s gradual ascent is driven by a  combination of the drum machine’s rhythmic beats and the alluring lyrics, resulting in a psychedelic sound. The ‘second single  ‘From The Speaker To The Right’ alludes to the desire of a young generation to dance and detach from the world outside of  the club. The track’s progression is dictated by the drum machine, which interweaves, and is layered alongside, with evocative  synthetic sounds and jarring sound effects like sirens, creating a moody and captivating journey. The closer ‘Take Some Time‚  is a homage to the desire to create, and the risks that come with following your passion. By incorporating prominent  psychedelic guitar riffs, the track exudes a punk rock energy that merges seamlessly with the funky beat. This blend of genres  results in a novel and dynamic sound that’s both edgy and catchy. 
This EP is set to release via Iptamenos Discos on May 26th, 2023 with three original tracks and two radio edits on a strictly limited clear Dubplate 12” and made available digitally via Iptamenos Discos on May 26th, 2023.

Buba is back on my choice! After his remix earlier last year, he delivers a fantastic EP with remixes by SouveQ. As a special instrument, he uses the Jaw Harp and builds all other elements around it. Buba is someone who is addicted to synth sequences and puts them through different genres as he did it on his track "Mantra". On the remix label boss, souveq added his own trademark arp feeling, and some extra piano chord progression.

Reviving the beloved but often forgotten sound of late 80’s Belgium, Dummy Hand are excited to present David J Bull’s ‘The Energy EP’. Picking up where the acclaimed DKA Tapes release ‘Body & Beat’ left off, this EP expands upon the late ‘88/’89 New Beat and EBM aesthetic with a healthy injection of Synth Pop — consolidating a shared feeling of present day angst while finding momentary euphoria in an unexpected place.

As co-founder of the revered Studio 89 and Teak parties as well as a producer bridging the darker electronic sounds of the 80s and infusing the old style with present day technique, David J Bull has become a cornerstone to the scene he’s fostered for many years.

The record tours through four razor sharp EBM and New Beat tracks, packed with squelchy trance leads, marching drums and dread laden basslines — looking not for a second summer of love but rather an edge into the darker months ahead.

For his second EP, R.2614 continues to deepen his universe with 4 tracks complemented by 2 remixes by Bias and STUPR.

The first track, 'Illusion', plunges us into a dark atmosphere, depicted by a heavy, EBM-influenced rhythm section, aggressive acid synths and ghostly, authoritative vocals. 'Élévation' then comes with a higher tempo as well as a lighter atmosphere: gravity diminishes and we're lifted by the pads and sci-fi synths of this resolutely techno DJ tool. The ascent continues with 'Destination', a track with a steady rhythm and a soaring aura, ideal for filling the dancefloor with love and tenderness. Finally, 'Prédiction' takes us back into an obscure climate, consolidated by a heady bass and distant nightmarish wails, with a mysterious and disturbing prophetic voice.

The first remix, by Bias, offers us a revisited version of 'Élévation', which is marked by lush sound design and a complex rhythmic pattern. To close the EP, STUPR offers us a remix of the same track tinged with UK techno influences, with a consistent breakbeat and rolling bassline.

For its newest record, Public Release soars over the Atlantic and glides into Greece to convene with two brothers from Thessaloniki, Christos and Fotis Papadakis, for Cosmic Swimmer, a gentle, lilting sunbleached house escapade.

The 12-inch opens with their soft and cushy original mix of “Cosmic Swimmer”, a charmed layer cake of round, full-bodied hand drums, airy pads, and washed-out vocal harmonies. A breezy, wide-open endless groove that ambles along at a not-too-slow, not-too-fast Goldilocks pace that will easily keep you undulating on the floor or in your head. Another pair of brothers, the Soulwax boys, making a very rare, celebrated appearance here, take the reigns and fill out the arrangement by wrapping it all up in some stone-cathedral euphoric resonance and injecting it with their trademark finger-plucked bass struts. One of their top remixes ever? Perhaps.

The hot potato is then passed to New York City’s Kim Ann Foxman for her take, a more urgent and pressed affair that swaps the organic elements for jittery programmed percussion, strobed effects, and brittle synth licks, all the while somehow keeping the dusting of Balearic feel-good presence intact. Finally, Eric “Dr. Dunks” Duncan jumps into the frame with a tough love acid- flecked interpretation that thrusts the record into peak-hour rave territories.

For the digital edition, a bonus is offered, a peppy, saucy Hi-NRG piano number that has echoes of late-80s New Order. A carefree, cheeky encore that caps off the party with a bolt of electricity.
