Paradise Palms presents a brand new EP from Edinburgh-based musician John Bryden aka Eyes Of Others. Gloomy but with a luminous edge, Stimulus sees Bryden creating dark, chugging moods driven by an ensemble of drum machine loops and a broken Yamaha CS01 - elevated by introspective lyrics, haunting vocals and a baggy pop quality.

Counting Andrew Weatherall, Geoffrey Mugwump and Sordid Sound System amongst his fans, Bryden’s track ‘Like It When It’s Lazy’ also caught the ear of electronic pioneer Das Ding (Minimal Wave, Pinkman) who has contributed a tense and sinister 7 minute remix to the EP. 

‘Stimulus’ is available digitally on 10th November and will be distributed by EPM. The record was mastered by Sam Smith at Green Door Studios in Glasgow.

Frankfurt based producer dj/producer Martin Heimann presents his debut single “Salto” on Carry On. Remaining faithful to its name, the small label puts out another piece of limited wax every once in a long while. Enrooted  in  the  soundscapes  of  80's  proto-house,  the original  version  of  Salto  is  a thriving  piece  of  octave  liberation.  Consistent  changes  between  harmonics  break  up  the repetitive structure, while FM pads and the 303 are performing a little duet.
The release is ennobled by two proper remixes from LYO favorites Moon B and Jex Opolis ! Jex remix here featured comes with some embellishment to the cords, change in the bassline and a nice 808 snap. On top Mr Opolis adds some mysterious and cheesy vocals samples that match perfect with the moody 80's orchestral stabs, dope ! Expected for end march

French-born Berlin-based duo @nummer dish out a proper feel-good tropical melter blazing with suave afro-funk hooks and dubbed-out guitar riffs amidst other rousing vibraphone melodies, enticing cowbells and cosmic arpeggios on rewind. Like setting up an improvised party in some idyllic, sun-bathed rainforest clearing, pleasantly hedged in by the fluid force of magic cascades, chlorophyllian green and the euphonic charm of multicoloured bird songs. Nummer's Tribute [Fragil Musique]

Known more for their dubby 'kosmische' and psychedelic post-disko, Glasgow label Invisible Inc seem to be wandering closer to the realms of the nightclub dancefloor these days. Not that anyone's complaining. With recent outings by Strange Culture and Sordid Sound System taking the lead, this one by Budapest's Bal5000 is quite possibly their most dancefloor friendly release yet.

Brainwaltzera debuts on FILM. The anonymous producer, whose work has has already received online approval from legendary british IDM auteur aphex twin, offers up an extended EP for the berlin based imprint. In 2015 a soundcloud profile under the name user18081971 - now identified as belonging to richard d. james, commented on curious Brainwaltzera upload quilat spring 1 [outtake]. The move prompted speculation as to who exactly is behind the music. Exquisitely produced and executed in such fine fashion so as to decry pure imitation - there’s plenty to theorise here. Regardless of their true creator - which will undoubtedly remain a secret for the time being, the compositions on FILM006 are of similarly high calibre. Varied in approach and marrying both electronic & acoustic elements with ease, the six tracks that comprise the record range from yearning ambient segues and dreamy down tempo grooves to otherworldly krautrock and more direct, dance floor fare - but remain bound tight as a cohesive and functional body of work by a glorious, arcane musicality. whether weaving soft electronic tones in and amongst snappy breaks or detuned drum-machine strikes, the artist’s ear for acoustic harmony is perhaps the pervading theme across the six tracks that make up the aecoba EP, marking it out as an excellent addition to the FILM label’s growing catalogue. A crowd of vibrantly colored fish move with the current, their numbers are enormous, their movements in unison.
Suddenly out of the darkness a barracuda cuts through the crowd, taking out four or five before disappearing into the shadows.  The crowd moves on as if nothing happened, quickly closing ranks where the missing ones swam only seconds before.
Fish disappear, darkness envelopes us.  Cold and lifeless where light has never penetrated... Five thousand feet, ten thousand.  Deeper, where only strange, self-illuminating echoniderms move eerily through the currents.
Then suddenly we hear a voices...

He didn't know what do do, what was right, what was wrong or if he should even be asking himself such questions about someone who had betrayed him so. They had supposed to have been in paradise but now it was anything but. 

Paradise Palms, the Edinburgh based record label, continues to move from strength to strength as they prepare to release a new EP from Eyes Of Others on the 10th of November.
