Stuart Evans, aka Sordid Sound System is one of the founders of The Green Door Studio, a not for profit, analogue recording studio in Glasgow which emerged from an increasing disillusionment with the modern ways of music production. His sound holds outsider qualities, being everything but generic and predictable, mixing dub with movie soundtracks in the tradition of Carpenter and Italian likes.
On this 7” released on Höga Nord Rekords, SSS deconstructs and rebuilds music in an imaginative style, pairing tribe-ritual “back to ape”-beats with synthesized cosmic harmonies. In a way, we are enjoying straight up dub here but this record is also a display of the vivid and creative Glasgow scene centred round “The Green Door Studio” and record labels like “Invisible, Inc.” where krautrock and 80’s/90’s electronic music is part of the foundation. Boundless joy for every girl and boy!

The anticipation was almost too much to handle as they neared the derelict industrial estate. They'd almost forgotten this feeling after so long out of the game, but though it should have felt somewhat alien, the emotions soon came flooding back as the soft thud of a kick drum echoed nearby. How they'd missed it; the sense of freedom these spaces gave them couldn't be replicated. Nothing could come close. 

Zodiac Childs return to their own Zodiac Wax imprint for their debut album 'Atoms To Atoms', which comes split across a three piece vinyl package. Like much of their previous work, this long player is a homage to the pair's love of classic breaks and the UK's hardcore legacy, representing the past, present and future of their sound. Employing analogue synthesis and hardware they play with emotion and energy to produce a collection of tracks that transport the listener through 'the moods and feelings of a full night of rave experience'.

Whether it is made of shimmering stratospheric soundscapes or built in between constellations of the inner world, A Strange Wedding goes beyond his own forms to explore half-step industrial leftfield dub as well as mental-driven deep techno in the style of italian masters. Oscillating from far distances to intimate odes to infinity, this crystal maze of sharp music stands as a usefull toolbox for total mind liberation, and marks a step even forward into's A Strange Wedding sonic journey.
