Inviting friends with a like-minded affection for an 80s rooted sound, and diving deep into his record collection, Curses has put together a three-CD/double vinyl set that takes us from music by Colourbox and Suicide to EBM pioneers, Front 242 through to recent club hits from Zombies in Miami, Moscoman, Juan Mclean and 12 brand new, totally exclusive tracks from the likes of Shubostar, Chinaski, Local Suicide x Skelesys, Kendal x David Carretta and Curses himself.

Exploring the darker side of club music, ‘Next Wave Acid Punx’ traces decades of a musical passion and joins the dots between the EBM, New Beat, Italo and Acid House tracks of the 1980s to present music of today.

With releases on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Live at Robert Johnson and Riotvan to his credit Chinaski should be no stranger to fans of dark, electronic disco. For his contribution to Eskimo‘s new ‘Next Wave Acid Punx’ compilation the Frankfurt based producer delivers a propulsive EBM number, full of dramatic synths stabs, martial snares and a suitably forbidding VoiceOver.

Berlin-based Italian DJ, producer, and Slow Motion label boss Franz Scala has made a name for himself with his eclectic sets that bring together spacey disco, Italo, Chi- townhouse, and dark new wave sounds, and on Shortwave Memories you can hear all that and more coming through. Staccato synths, a throbbing acidic bassline, industrial percussion, and a snare that slaps like a rubber-gloved hand all combine to create an urgent, sleazy number, perfect for dimly lit clubs.
