In a survey published on July 8th this year in the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, most respondents consider the Brazilian President (whose name will not be mentioned here) “dishonest, false, incompetent, unprepared, indecisive, authoritarian, and unintelligent”. We could not agree more! And as strong critics of the imbecile, we got really excited when we were solicited to review a track called “Fuck The President”, to be released soon on the label Suçuarana Records, the result of a collaboration between Berlin/São Paulo-based artists.

Voltags arises from the fusion between the Brazilian performer Volatille with the German producer Gats. Synthesized songs, distorted guitars, and a Cyber/Post-Punk aura accompanied by Vola's aggressive, mocking, and sexual voice.

“Chaos Center”, the duo's debut EP, carries a cellular atmosphere of telemarketing, transmedia calls that cross and intersect in a zeitgeist Cold Turkey of the current anti-virtual “pandemusic”. The album is also an exhibition of photographs by Brazilian visual artist and performer Nube Abe. In the remix duties, Martinelli and Zopelar bring quite different interpretations to increase the quality of the already solid release.

With a strong message and a compelling attitude, “Fuck The President” brings in its lyrics two more adjectives to be added to the list of attributes of the idiot: serial killer and genocidal. Brazil has lost so far almost 550.000 souls to COVID-19, mainly due to the lack of a proper mass vaccination plan to control the crisis.

HEAR0061 is here to stay and for this release we are happy to present ‘Royal Flush’ by Mundo D. Edmundo de Diego better known as Mundo D is a Spanish, from Valencia, DJ and Producer whose career can be traced back to 2013, when he got very important support from AFFKT.

Mundo D’s sound has a personal touch, with an indie, retro, techno, and dark disco atmosphere.
Counting releases on labels such as Sincopat, Nein, Side Up Works or Critical Monday and having remixed artists such as Darlyn Vlis, Blacktone and Tronik Youth, Mundo D has a prolific discography, to say the least.

Their debut EP „Constellations“ is a splash of a broad color palette thrown onto the monochrome landscape that is our contemporary club music scene, elegantly hazing genre boundaries and creating their own world of pop-infused club music (or club-infused pop music?) in the process.

„Silky Days“ might be one of those addictive tunes that never leave your daily listening playlists after hearing them the first time, with their effortless-seeming infusion of acoustic elements like guitar and drums evoking shades of the solo works of Thom Yorke or 90s Trip Hop á la Portishead or Massive Attack updated to 2020s aesthetics.

The BPM counter jumps erratically as we switch between the title track, which sounds like Donna Summer gone gritty downtempo house (yes, it works!), and follow-up „Rupture Of Two Souls“ with its delicate webs of synth structures building to an enormous emotional payoff in the third act. „Silky Days“ and „Water Strider“ might be those addictive tunes that never leave your daily listening playlists after hearing them the first time, with their effortless-seeming infusion of acoustic elements like guitar and drums evoking shades of the solo works of Thom Yorke or 90s Trip Hop á la Portishead or Massive Attack updated to 2020s aesthetics. „Sense“ and „Pipe Dreams“ are the most forward club-ready tunes of the pack, the former with its glitched-up vocals and saturated head-spinning straight-yet-odd beat patterns, and the latter with its beautiful ornamentalistic vocal and synth lines growing into increasingly complex and endearing structures over its seven minute runtime.

Two one-man bands projects meets together on the first Global Warming various record : The cold-blooded Scottish sound-ingeneer @sordid-sound-system and mysterious Spanish hedonist @sutjagutierrez. Deeply rock-rooted and drug-infused, this futuristic western soundtrack opens with ‘The Void’, a arid dub jam, heavily hallucinogenic and ‘Meanwhile, When Times Turn Bad’, schizophrenic punk jam both recorded from Sordid Sound System’s redwood forests new studio on Northern California. On the other side, the lone ranger Sutja Gutierrez takes us to a dystopian horse ride into shady woods and grey plains, with ‘Everything Leads To An End’ and 'Beheaded Angels', two sensible journey, blending goofy drums, creepy synths layers, heady weird vocals and binary guitars for a unique and mighty melancholic mood.
