Berlin based Kid Simius is back on his home label Jarifa Records, with a deliciously fresh new EP. It’s a collection of four upbeat, dance floor-ready jams full of infectious rhythms, warmth, and summer vibes, topped off with a re rub from the mighty man Gerd Janson.

Kicking off is the very respectable ‘Chicken Mango’ with its rolling disco bassline and hypnotic rhythm that locks you in from the off.

‘We Like To Party’, features cult Spanish band ‘Hinds’ who take the track into piano house realms. Carrying a mean bassline, crisp beats, classic piano riff and uplifting vocal chant, its shimmering pads will spark moments of joy on the dancefloor.

‘Balearic Sundance’ feels like we’re back on the island in the 90s, with its bouncy analogue low end providing a solid backbone for the rest of the track. There are Latin influences aplenty with trumpet flourishes, snapping castanets and slick guitar riff.

‘300 Million Stars’ takes the listener on a space bound trajectory to the stars with retro sensibilities, enchanting melody and punchy beats.

Closing the EP, Gerd Janson adds serious weight, taking the piano house original , adding layers of much tougher electronica on his stomping cosmic disco version.

About : 
Small Great Tunes Vol.1 is varied and offers a traveling DJ multiple vibes to choose from. The energy on this new record takes off within the few first bars. The opening track "Sport Casino" by Kid Simius introduces a lighthearted mood and 80s synthesizers.
Peter LC's "Sogni D'infanzia" is very likely to become the next lofi-house classic on disco dancefloors around the world. Dreamy and melancholic but groovy nevertheless. 
The B1 track “Kamal”, a collab between David Silver & Luca Olivotto is a tasty house mood. The tune features a powerful and groovy bassline and sparkling synth leads all accompanied by rhythmic piano chords. B2 is similar to A2 in the way that it's also a lofi-house track with nostalgic moods and careful sound design. 
With each side of the record featuring both a sunnier and a moodier track, the EP is a perfect fit for summer sets in a heated club or leisurely listening sessions on late afternoons enticing the listener to let go and bringing back memories that have yet to be created.

This is a collection of music for the various films and theatre plays by Mirko Krsticevic, Croatian and Yugoslavian composer and musician active since 1970s. “All and Nothing at All (Film and Theatre Music 1978 - 1988)” [“Sve i nista (Filmska i scenska glazba 1978. - 1988.” in Croatian] focuses on his work for the underground and avant-garde cinema from the era: directors Ivan Martinac, Svemir Pavic, Lordan Zafranovic, Aleksandar F. Stasenko and Vanca Kljakovic are all part of the Split Cinema Club association; their work explores art, death, sexuality and eroticism. Krstičevic compositions for various theatre plays are also included.

Svemir Pavic’s portrait of surrealist painter Ljuba Popovic, made in the same year as its counterpart by Walerian Borowczyk, features scenes form Beaubourg Gallery in Paris and Udo Kier as a guest. Side B of the record is all about theatre: plays by Sam Shepard, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Jean Giraudoux were all produced in Sarajevo and Split in the 1980s, with the rare electronic takes by Mirko Krsticevic and his subtle minimalist soundings of the themes from the Cold War era. This unique and diverse compositions by founder of the rock band Metak and sound studio Tetrapak from Split, are document of the time that is, especially in the closing Chernobyl theme, relevant again.
Composer, musician and musical arranger Mirko Krsticevic was born in 1948 in Sibenik. He graduated in music theory at the Pedagogical Academy in Split and then at the Music Academy in Sarajevo. He studied composition with Josip Magdic, Mladen Pozajic and Miroslav Spiler. He is the co-founder of the Tetrapak music studio in Split, where numerous performers and musicians have recorded (Animatori, D'Boys, Haustor, Oliver Mandic, Gibonni, Srdjan Marjanovic, Stil, Trotakt Projekt and others).
Together with Ranko Boban and Momcilo Popadic, he founded the Metak group in the spring of 1978 in Prigradica on Korcula. In the group, he is the author of songs and lyrics, and he also plays the bass guitar. “Da mi je biti morski pas” is the group’s most successful single, which in 1980 became one of the most played songs on radio and television. Metak performed in Belgrade in front of 70,000 people, and the media declared them the best group along with Macedonian Leb i sol. In compositional work and arrangements for other pop and rock artists, Krsticevic had high commercial success with Tutti Frutti Balkan Band, Biljana Petrovic, Seid Memic Vajta, Pepel in kri, Osmi putnik, Oliver Dragojevic , Djordji Peruzovic, Henda and others.
Parallel to his pop and rock career, Krsticevic composed stage and film music for 45 films, mostly collaborating with the circle of experimental and amateur directors of the Split Cinema Club (Kino klub Split) as well as the rest of the local underground scene. He is the author of stage music for 130 theatre plays (mainly for HNK Split and Narodno pozoriste Sarajevo).

"Water In The Moon" marks the highly anticipated album release by Dsum. Following his last album in 2022, Dsum unveils a 12-track opus meticulously crafted to explore the boundaries of electro sounds, oscillating between experimental ambient and Detroit electro. It represents perhaps his most musically rich endeavor to date.

To be released under his own label, Back Door, his fourth album is the culmination of years of introspective musical exploration, tracing its origins back to the lockdown period of 2020. A tribute to the genesis of electronic music, "Water In The Moon" pays homage to Dsum's electronic roots while pushing the boundaries of sonic innovation.

Drenched in analog warmth, the album boasts lush pads, expansive synths, and gritty 808 electro beats, crafting a mesmerizing mosaic of soundscapes that transport you to outer space. Every track showcases Dsum's production and electronic music expertise, with brief variations and instrumental snippets adding to a unified journey of auditory exploration.

The EP features Rome producer T/ERROR creating a musical version of a new comic strip titled “DATA SURFER.” The narrative explores the consequences of a special mixer falling into the hands of an angry suburban hoodlum immersed in electronic music. The EP unfolds in a vivid picture of “pain, passion, and redemption across Rome and Berlin” with T/ERROR’s sound-narrative journey reflecting electro-acid tones, dark mechanical sounds, and liquid electro.

IULY.B delivers his debut album ‘Dimensions’ via Switzerland’s Adam’s Bite in April 2024, comprised of eleven originals from the Romanian artist.
Across the past decade Iasi, Romania’s IULY.B has steadily stamped his mark on the underground scene through his releases on the likes of Metereze, Constant Sound, Visionquest and Infuse among others. Here he marks a milestone in his career, delivering his debut long player for the Swiss imprint Adam’s Bite.
Across the eleven track ‘Dimensions’ album, IULY.B embraces the long player format to deliver a psychedelia infused range of material in his signature, raw, subtly nuanced and hypnotic style. Opener ‘Seagulls Passing By’ perfectly sets the tone with field recordings from the beach, breezy pads and a shuffled drum groove. The project then shifts up gears continually with ‘Altered Memories’ rolling rhythm, choppy bass and sweeping synths, the aptly titled ‘Bump’s gritty bass stabs, tripped out vocals and crunchy drums.
‘Aurora’ then drifts back into deeper realms with entrancing atmospherics, skippy percussion and acid-tinged synth licks before shifts straight back to raw dance floor ready material with a murky bass grooves, skippy drums and dubbed out vocals. ‘Ronnie’s Squat’ sees IULY blur the lines between House and Techno next with a gritty acid laced bass hook, swinging drums and bubbling synth flutters.
The story continues with ‘Dark Safari’ and its fluttering low-end pulsations, crisp percussion and tension building synth swells before ‘Variations’ heads back to the roots of Dub Techno, traversing through seven minutes of swirling dub echoes, hypnotic chimes and muted drums.
‘Between Worlds’ sees IULY once again moving in a new direction with saturated electro leaning rhythms, elongated subs and resonant synth licks before the mesmerizing textures of ‘Atlantis’ merge an amalgamation of melodies with a sturdy rhythmic foundation.
Track ten ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ then begins to wind down the project with an electronica leaning aesthetic, bringing together ethereal pads with plucked synth melodies and a chugging stab sequence before ‘Leaving Out’ concludes the project, a subtly unfurling journey through cascading atmospherics, robotic vocal chants and soft, broken percussion.

We present you the EP from Anton Levdikov “The Umbra is going wild”.  Umbras are the author’s mythical characters, about whom he tells legends about and depicts in his paintings and installations.  The EP chronicles their journeys, which become wilder from track to track: through darkness to light, through light to darkness.  A long but fascinating journey.

Musically, Anton notes his love for industrial music, acid house and electronic body music.  The remixes involve producers from different genres: their diversity continues the path of Umbra.  Among them: Mexican producer TKUZ, Spaniard and owner of the Logical Records label - Ivan De La Rouche, resident of Arma 17 and Pinkman - LVRIN, one of the founders of the Bravers - ORYOL and resident of Temple de Plastique - JULIA KONOR.

Valencia based record label Frigio are set to release a remix package which features alternate versions of tracks from CLOCK DVA. This one is a hard hitting electro focussed EP which is built for dark, sleazy rooms. The Atom ™ remix was the stand out cut for us with a riotous saw driven synth and dark moody, alluring vocals.

Barcelona’s Anbau (Aspecto Humano) debuts on Bordello with a Giro d’Italia themed EP. Dedicated to its heroic riders and specifically the late Marco Pantani. He broke through in 1994, winning one of the hardest Giro climbs with an incredible time record; the Passo del Mortirolo. He eventually became second in the final rankings of this legendary tour of Italy.

The release will be out on the 4th of May, kicking off the 108th edition of La Corsa Rosa. Every copy comes in a limited edition sleeve with a rare original Merlin collector’s sticker of the 78th Giro from ’95.

With his newest release "El Río" on "Jirafa Records" Kid Simius sets another exclamation mark in his long and varied career. It's no coincidence that the EP seems to be the highlight of the last few months, in which the artist has dedicated himself more and more to the house and disco genre. It is the harmony of rhythmic drums and percussion with wide pads and playful vocals that give a glimpse of the upcoming summer.
That Kid Simius is on the right path can also be seen with the remix by the international heavyweight Fort Romeau, a regular guest at the Berghain Panorama Bar. A track with massive pads and housy acid elements that gives the original versions an unexpected twist.
