GUN (Grim Up North), the new alias of Newcastle mainstay Peter Wilson, aka one-half of People Get Real, debuts on Me Me Me this August with 'The Reef' EP featuring remixes from REES & Sahar, Fall Forward & Grainger and Kiaki.

Over many years as People Get Real, Wilson has established himself as one of house and disco's most assured and accomplished DJ and production duos. He has played at various major clubs and festivals globally, has served up a wealth of club-ready weapons on his co-founded Join Our Club label, and now branches out with something just as vital under the new alias, GUN.

Two producers, a French and a Mexicano, who are living in two different cities in France have been composing an EP together. The guys have never crossed paths, and have still yet to meet in person. We are talking about Kubebe from Lille and Leonor from Tournus. The love that they have in common for each other’s music forged their desire for this collab to happen. The Midnight Man EP was created using a Ping Pong process, taking about two weeks. The result is a beautiful 80’s driven EP including one slower and one uplifting original as well as two splendid remixes by German synth master Lauer and the Swedish Elfenberg duo from Stockholm. What a package!

When you put together Mufti, Fabrizio Mammarella and Modular Project the perfect storm is around the corner. The label, well known for the quality of his releases, landed this time with “Kismet EP” from the Mexican producer Mufti.
Kismet Original Mix is a track that immediately captures the attention with the main lead melody and the vocal that gently drives into the composition, instead, the unexpected slammed guitar is a pure energetic bliss for every body-mover on the dancefloor.
Nothing Is Real’s bosses Modular Project gives to the main version their special disco-dreamy fingerprint in full effect with an upbeat bass, a sweet arpeggio and their classic 707 style drumming.
The icing on the cake came from the Italian master Fabrizio Mammarella, head of Slow Motion Records and renowned for appearance on labels like Permanent Vacation, Riotvan, Correspondant and many others. He delivers a twist on “Kismet” with his rolling bass and a charming acid envelope late during the arrangement.
With “Escotoma” Mufti goes on a pure Darkwave trip with his unique vocal and a cloudy guitar melody matched with a slow arpeggio that gives the guide to the track.

The treetops bristle with birdsong, thickets of bongos, toms and rain sticks lead a path to dawning melodies. A wonderfully textured percussive piece, the track is intricately carved and demonstrates the diversity and depth of Elfenberg. The disco dipped futurism of “Sphere Of Missing Out” follows. Echoes of “Conga Coronation” rhythms are countered by beaming synth bars and vocoder lyrics with the Swedish pair pushing for the floor. “Cosmic Tribune” is the curtain close. In the artist’s own words;

‘Space Phantasy’ is a journey to atone for demons to become the best version of yourself, even if everything around you is crumbling at your feet. It wasn't originally intended as a dancefloor song. I have tried to be as organic and minimalistic as possible in its production.

‘This Is The Time’ was the beginning of a change in both my sound and my life. I was listening to a lot of acid & Chicago, house, and in the end, the idea was to bring those influences and that classic sound to the present in a low bpm track, but with a very particular dancefloor pressure. With this track, I wanted to remind myself that it's always a good time to start from scratch and abandon a sad self, which only subtracts from your potential.

TAU label heads Adana Twins brings the tempo up a notch with a primed late-night, sweaty phat remix, huge hoover bass tones interject racing percussion, and main vocals samples for a futuristic blend of driving sonics. The duo shows off a distinct ability for carving in breaks into their tracks. Keeping things Techno-ish and consistent while adding touches of their breadth of influences.

Life & Death regulars Marvin & Guy gives the reworking a hazy and trippy desert, bringing a dreamlike feel while keeping things dancefloor-friendly.
The remix begins in the same spirit and captures the blissful allusions of its name Space Phantasy, but its initial gentility belies the deep intensity to come. Floating pads glow with celestial ambiance, melodies, topped with a vocoded vocal hook.

We are happy to announce the debut EP Portuguese-Italian Vhyce.
After his track „Back To Where I Never Was“ on a well received Lost Tapes Vol. 4, he is no stranger to the AEON camp anymore. Known from his releases on Catz N’ Dogz „Pets Recordings“, the young producer delivers a stunning 4 track EP with the title „These Words“.
Vhyce has a very characteristic sound design, which makes his simple and almost minimalistic, but catchy tunes so special; Though always trying to add something new to his repertoire. Like on the title track „These Words“ it was one of the first few attempts for him to sing some vocals on his own instrumentals. „While not being good at singing, I think it really set you free to be able to express your ideas yourself without relying on someone else understanding of your vision,“ he claims.
The track is built around an arpeggiated bass line oscillating between two sequences thats progressively build tension without being too obvious. The lyrics „These words have no meaning“ fell mysterious and open to interpretation. 
 
On the remix duty there’s no one less but „Chicken Lips“ legend Andrew, better known as The Emperor Machine. He stripped back the original to a more funky & grooving rework.  “The plan was to create something that keeps the same emotion as the original mix but still feels different enough without changing direction too much & I think I managed to achieve that”, Andrew says. And yes, what a musical masterpiece he delivered!
„Strive for Ego“ is an attempt to fuse „Can“ & „Neu!“ Krautrock influences into a club track“, says Vicente. Constantly driving forward, with perfect temper and timing to rise tension and built up energy Track title refers to the lyrics... „I’m nobody“.
„Old You“ has a more traditional Italo Disco feel. The „happy“ sounding bass line is counterbalanced with rough and psychedelic analog leads, reminding of traveling through time and space in a 80‘s Sci-Fi movie. The vocoded lyrics shall „refer to an hate-love relationship with your old you....Maybe because it „holds you“, Vhyce describes.
