After gracing sublabel Charlois three times over the years, Timothy J. Fairplay finally lands on Pinkman with ‘Convictions That Stick’, furthering his sonic excursions into raw, jacking, yet evocative house music. ‘Convictions’ rattles through drum-machine workouts topped with soaring synthlines, inviting you to spiral in the club's darkest corners. Between the shuffled claps, ominous melodics and delay-laden syncopation, 'Convictions' playfully evokes both the mechanical exploration of urban space, and the claustrophobic intimacies encountered within it. There's even a nod towards 1980s’ cult cinema hit 'The Bronx Warriors' at the end. Naturally, these six tracks find a perfect home on Pinkman.

Spring 2023 saw the release of Tyrants; A rich and accomplished long-player from Raz Ohara via Denature Records that spans distorted synth-peaks, cinematic soundscapes, all the way to avant-garde contemporary classical, and jazz music.

Succeeding the LP is a collection of weird and wonderful revisions courtesy of Cummi Flu, Die Wilde Jagd, Temple Haze and Phillip Thimm who all work to twist and pull the originals into beautifully intricate shapes that are in equal parts kinetic, psychedelic and healing.

Cummi Flu's take is a loose, expressive tale that trickles like a brook; a gentle braid of melodies that subtly form a directional flow.

Die Wilde Jagd follows up with a spectral take on 'Instant Mastery' that has frazzled drums gently pattering atop murky plumes. Motion is generated steadily as spring-reverb guitar tones and sparse vocals punctuate a heady journey.

Temple Haze follows up with an allaying take on Tyrants. Progress patiently stretches out like a morning salute as Raz's vocals are granted space to occupy the foreground and ferry the listener forward.

Philipp Thimm finishes up with a deep, textural take on Pretty Bird. Chalky drums follow syncopated steps as they scatter over a dense, foggy bed adding a more rhythmic, fast-paced shade to the remix package.

'T/ERROR | DATA SURFER' is the latest EP from New Interplanetary Melodies (NIM), a collaboration between Simona Faraone’s NIM label and the collective Kuro Jam, led by Gianluca Pernafelli. The EP features Rome producer T/ERROR creating a musical version of a new comic strip titled “DATA SURFER.” The narrative explores the consequences of a special mixer falling into the hands of an angry suburban hoodlum immersed in electronic music. The EP unfolds in a vivid picture of “pain, passion, and redemption across Rome and Berlin” with T/ERROR’s sound-narrative journey reflecting electro-acid tones, dark mechanical sounds, and liquid electro.

We present you the EP from Anton Levdikov “The Umbra is going wild”.  Umbras are the author’s mythical characters, about whom he tells legends about and depicts in his paintings and installations.  The EP chronicles their journeys, which become wilder from track to track: through darkness to light, through light to darkness.  A long but fascinating journey.

Musically, Anton notes his love for industrial music, acid house and electronic body music.  The remixes involve producers from different genres: their diversity continues the path of Umbra.  Among them: Mexican producer TKUZ, Spaniard and owner of the Logical Records label - Ivan De La Rouche, resident of Arma 17 and Pinkman - LVRIN, one of the founders of the Bravers - ORYOL and resident of Temple de Plastique - JULIA KONOR.

It was always there, watching their every move as they came and went. It was a deconstruction tool, designed to break apart the pieces of a society which was once rife with colour and care. Now it was all gone.

It knew everything, the de-constructor. It was everything.

Valencia based record label Frigio are set to release a remix package which features alternate versions of tracks from CLOCK DVA. This one is a hard hitting electro focussed EP which is built for dark, sleazy rooms. The Atom ™ remix was the stand out cut for us with a riotous saw driven synth and dark moody, alluring vocals.

Flowers From The Ashes is the latest multi-artist project to bear the acclaimed Stroboscopic Artefacts imprimatur. There is a sensibility of decadence and corroded grandeur etched within its four album sides, reminding us that historically “decadent” times have nonetheless resulted in some of the boldest acts of individual and collective creativity. Like the "floral" theme that has remained a consistent feature of S.A.’s graphic presentation, the music here equally presents fragility and intensity in a way that really drives home this visual metaphor for good, while still holding out the promise that similar creations will be seeded in the near future.

Though many of the artists involved have set of residence outside of their native Italy, all contribute here to make a captivating portrait of a shared spirit and cultural memory. The album opens with 'Errori', deceptively fragile sonic ornaments crafted and suspended in space by Blackest Ever Black artist Silvia Kastel. This is followed closely by the mellifluous, warming glow of percussionist Andrea Belfi’s 'Spitting & Skytouching', and then by the resolute electric bass patterns and luminous fog of 'Lux et Sonus', from Eeri label head Marco Shuttle. Hospital Productions alumnus Ninos du Brasil open the B-side with a similarly dense, amorphous construction built from tribalistic chants and rhythmic patterns, to be followed by Mannequin label boss Alessandro Adriani’s 'You Will Not Be There For The End', showcasing his distinctive take on the "paranoiac breakdance" aesthetic of classic EBM. S.A. veteran Chevel rounds out the first record in the program by interlacing several percolating synth lines together into a richly conversational piece.

The journey continues with 'Starving The Mind', an undulating mini-epic from S.A. founder Lucy that is animated by his signature balance of seductiveness and concentration. The bright, biting acid synth tones of 'PRV-HH3-X', by Lory D, then takes a sharp right turn into an invisible metropolis ruled by reflective high fashion and hidden intrigue. The imposing architecture of 'Virgo Rebellion', designed by modular synth futurist Caterina Barbieri, acts as an excellent companion piece, and sets up the closing '4G' from Spazio Disponibile co-founder Neel - a crepuscular serenade that accurately sums up much of the foregoing activity.
