INCOMING :  H.L.M. – Architecture Compliquée (Curses Dub) #MILKME

Hailing 50% from Mexico and 50% from Guatemala, Alfa Trigueña is the promising new label curated by none other than Tyu & Fabio Me Llaman Soltero (SXDNS187). After presenting Chrysalis with remixes by Thomas Von Party, A-Tweed (SXDNS222/FREEDL029) & Mi Sun for its debut release, the imprint now welcomes Mexican artists ALF CHAMPION & MDHNTR feat. Marcos for its second instalment. Lithuanian producer Shkema completes the EP with not one but two remixes.

The fruitful partnership between ALF CHAMPION & MDHNTR is not so recent. Previously, the duet has already had their work published on important labels of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Electric Shapes, Bonkers, Playground, and New Day Everyday, for instance. For “Eins” EP; they repeated their successful formula: raw psychedelia and savage multi-stimulating sounds handed over through a wide range of different tempos and Latin body music rhythms.

The track we were solicited to premiere brings the lads flirting with frolic sonorities and playful elements. It is like if they were in the studio surrounded by noisy and clattery toys, just fooling around, and suddenly decided to record all the buzz, bang, boom, clang, and thud, add some percussive layers and FXs, and voila! A creative and out of the box theme is born.

Simple Cat (Original Mix) is an all out statement of intent from this new constellation of Berlin veterans, Tegel Boys, a collective of rock ‘n’ roll disco dons, studio cats, and acid-rave aficionados delivering a distinct sound distilled from their deep and diverse connections as players and producer-collaborators in acoustic and electronic adventures past. (Hazy Pockets, FJAAK, Hauschka, White Denim). Tegel Boys are dedicated proponents of live acid disco, 303-melt, electric guitar drive, dada-bongo bounce married to deep-digging dusty-sampledelics. This debut track is a sprawling march out into the apocalyptic desert, sprinkled with cult-cowboy samples, a knowing wink to epic dancefloor sunset rides past, a crisp swagger into the future. In this latest episode of Logical we wanted to focus on Azaria, pillar, regular artist of the label and head of Rec Division Studios studios, as we are about to embark into a different journey, the imprint wanted this EP to be something special, the first of the decade and the last of an era.

Kingpin counts with three brilliant original tracks full of energy, disco drums, slow techno, a little bit of catchy melodies and a of course the personal touch that always characterises the Spanish producer.
In the matter of the remixes we count with three special pieces, the first one comes by the hand of Javier Busto former boss label, giving us a psycho chugger remix of the track Kingpin, is full of all his usual weapons grounded on the 80’s and acid sounds.
The second one comes from the current head of Logical HQ, Ivan De La Rouch and Madrid Based music producer,  Mike Sacchetti soon to be part of of the A/R department. Reakt is a peak time track with rhythmic guitars and powerful bass, which makes it perfect for the dance floor.

And for the third remixer, we have Amsterdam based producer, Daniel Monaco, known for his releases on exquisite labels such as Bordello A Parigi or Slow Motion, a super great producer who brings all the quality for this last track called Concrete Funk.

This record has a history, a very interesting one! Our DJs spin this track since 2018. Released on VERY LIMITED 300 run of single vinyl EP will be a collector's item that raises prices in Discogs in no time. Be quick to grab it.
Three years in the making only to be held up almost another year due to COVID, finally now seeing the light of day is this brooding monster of an EP by Brussels based Strapontin, aka multi-disciplinary artist Patrick Belmont.

Clocking in at over 35-minutes the record is almost album length and spans a multitude of depths and moods with elements of techno, new wave, rock 'n' roll, house and tribal…...all glued together with a sleazy atmosphere reminiscent of the electronic body music pioneered by Strapontin’s Belgian forefathers Front 242 and their German peers DAF.

Add to this a heads-down-no-nonsense darkroom beast of a remix by techno maestro Sascha Funke and the package is complete.

Strapontin provides us with some insight:
“It started with a desire to move away a bit from my 'dancefloor' side and go into more undefined fields, I wanted to work with blurry sensations that I can't understand. I like mixed feelings. Dramatex 300 is made of that ambivalent mood. The voice is saying 'I'm feeling empty' and 'I'm feeling healthy' at the same time. I like that paradox. Eunuque is a song but is also a character I will develop in a short movie (which will act as the 'music video' of the song). The Eunuque is a character full of anger yet he doesn't want to fight nor has he a target to aim at. A restrained aggressivity is boiling inside him/it that has no opportunity to escape from the body and gain release. The song is the fever he feels from these inner battles. I think Le Bain d'Huile and Anti-sceptical have the same slow and angry feeling. I'm proud of these tracks because they are a bit mysterious to me and it feels like they controlled me more than I controlled them.”
