Stevie R & Parisinos land on Playground’s 37th reference with an Ep flooded with dark magic, mystical chants and trippy atmospheres. The release is composed by two original mixes alongside two delightful remixes from the Romanian duo Khidja and London based artist Mytron.  This launch was inspired by recent events, by the transformation of the way of life around us and the ability for music to guide us through wandering adventures.  Our premiere of Mytron’s remix closes the story by giving us a hopeful ending, taking us all to the dance floor to exorcise our sorrows.

Duro is honored to present the birth of the “Baba” brotherhood. During the last pandemic year, Rina traveled from Tel Aviv to Portugal, where he met Switchdance. After some trips around the beautiful city of Lisbon, plates and plates of hummus and samosa, a visit to pick up raspberries at a field that used to be a medicinal cannabis farm and lots of hours in Switchdance's studio, 'Baba Music Vol. 1' was alive.

The journey initiates with "Reak" or "empty" in Hebrew; the cut refers to a state of consciousness where there is nothing in the brain. Playful percussion, acid basslines mixed with digitally distorted synthesizers create the sensation of breaking out reality, an experience blended with algorithms, binary codes and atomized sounds where it is hard to distinguish the realness. A roar to all the Babas around the world to gather on the dance floor.

Next comes the Hebrew version of "Give Way",a cut that narrates the moment when you are in a high state of mind and try to describe the process to get back to reality. On this first version Rina takes control of the vocals. It’s followed by the Portuguese version where the duo worked with vocalist Abrão. An alternative version with deep and resonant bass, a synthesized voice, electric and acid melodies, and distant pads run through the space.

To consummate the brotherhood with an embellishment, master Jonathan Kusama came up with two versions of "Give Way". The first one is an energetic cut with a flickering and harsh bass, mixed with mind-bending and unhinged synthesizers. For the second version Kusama brings up a futuristic and dystopian dub masterpiece, with distorted bass lines, shady vocals and liquid percussion.

Being an ever-hungry fanatic for new, quirky and creative ways of musical expression, Andreja Salpe (@andrejasalpe) marks his most productive year so far. Next in line for his label, PMG Tanz Digital (@pmgtanzdigitalrecords) is another unexpectedly tranquil, but definitely club oriented EP.

'Variation of Dark-Disko is Andreja Salpe's whimsical, yet completely logical sequel to “Egypt Disko” - his collaboration with Veselinov which recently dropped for Quixotical Records. Including a groovy, organic remix by Leonor and a more heavy, industrial remix by Aurum Miles (@aurummiles), this dance floor oriented release is a welcome folder in any party lover’s collection.

The newest remix installment on La Pochette Surprise Records comes with 2 remixes for Anna Wydras "I Wish You'd Stroke Me Like You Stroke The Dog". The pop artist just released her album "The Absurdity Of Being" and now remixes by Freakazzé II and Cynistry are about to follow up and add their own interpretations upon this song about unfulfilled sexual fantasies.
Freakazzé II came up with a straight forward remix from the darker side of disco adding some bounce upon the dark and dreamy vocals. They stay true to the melancholic and dark atmosphere of the track by adding some synth voices and some drums that make you step on the dancefloor.
Cynistry is gliding into glitchy drumsounds carrying the beautiful voice of Anna over some dark synth sounds. Having the keys as a constant element of the original song gives a hypnotic drive to this halftime hardhitter. The dreamyness of this piece pulls you deep into itself and brings you back with a different feeling of your own surroundings.

There are many ways for a record label to compile an album: some make it in a week and some let the process go on longer. The latter approach does often mean that that the record will not be better than had it been recorded and mixed within a short amount of time, rather the contrary. However, there are those albums that just could not be made within in a week or a month, those compilation of songs that needed the time to melt together to form an album.  So here it is , the second part of Princes Of Abzu and our pick up here - Mekine U Teksi the opener track from release, lovely  6 minutes of journey with fantastic percussion and lovely dark structure.
