After a quiet period due to intenses delays in the industry, Macadam Mambo is back to present a new LP by the greek musician Yannis Veslemes.
The confirmed artist - who has previously appeared on labels such as Byrd Out, Invisble Inc., Won Ton, Optimo Music or Into The Light, under differents projects : Felizol, Steamcut, Sportex or his own name, and composed for movies OST - started to integrate Macadam Mambo on the latest compilation Danzas Electricas vol. 3, and very naturaly proposed his new album. It needs to be said what an honnor to receive such quality music. In term of composition, production and universe! It’s a land of influences and uniqueness, in which you will recognise a bit of Yello, Coil, Nick Cave or Igor Wakhevitch vibes embrassing folkloric greek melodies or cosmic pop ballads. It’s brillantly dark, obscure and lightful. A tempest of sensuality and roughness. To say it short it’s EPIC! and will definitely give the recognition that Veslemes deserves as a major composer in Modern Electronic Music.

Welcome to the magenta world of Emil Valev. During the late 1980s and 90s, at the helm of Violetov General, he pioneered a darkly melancholic, avant-garde formulation of the new wave sound. The band enjoyed international acclaim, spending time in the underground scenes of Bulgaria, Berlin and Slovakia. Since then, Valev has gone on to refine his hypnotically idiosyncratic style with a number of solo releases and appearances at electronic music festivals. Now, Osàre! is honoured to present Gentle Reactor. Collecting together twenty-five years of remastered and more recent material, the album is powered by the sensual fission of harsh textures, metronomic beats and playful excess.
Label boss Elena Colombi initially received over eighty songs from Valev, two of which appeared on the compilations Il Monte Analogo (2021) and Il Lupo Della Steppa (2020) respectively. But it was clear that a full album dedicated to Violetov General needed to be in the works. The pair spent two years combing through recordings, selecting the tracks that would eventually form the double-sided LP. From the locked-groove beat of ‘Valahoveine’ to 'Poliani’s sizzling industrial refrain and the slap-bass finale of 'Black Cat', Gentle Reactor is a wild ride.
The record takes the darkwave genre on a cosmic journey across the realms of prog rock, noise, Eastern European folk-tinged melodies, ritualistic percussion and a patchwork of vocal breakdowns. Driven by an intuitive compositional process and slick production, the retrospective is a fascinating slice of experimental music history that's anything but backwards facing. - Hannah Pezzack

After his appearance on Frigio Allstars Vol 3, Scannoir (also half member of the amazing GOTT project) delivers his first full length EP with "Through My Silence".

Emotive and raw, the style pursued blurs the lines between synth wave, EBM and techno. "Industrial Technology" opens with a driving and steadily increasing buildup that finds its peak with a wink in the late eighties New Beat/Techno era. Followed by "Get Ready (but sorry)" which entertains with powerful drums, thick strings and rumbling chords while samples and distant lyrics recite the coming of change. The breadth of Scannoir’s style is truly remarkable, with this amazing 5 track EP being emblematic of his range. The flip takes a different direction, the lovelorn lament of “Through My Silence” melts sweetened synth lines with cold pain-streaked words before blooming into a brooding burner. A shaky alliance between samples and vocals runs through the rhythmic assault and violent undertones of “Why Old News.” The closure comes with the marching melancholy of “Alles Wird Gut”, a dark and moody end to this debut EP.

Following his debut album in 2021, Aroma von Troisdorf makes a welcome return to Papercup Records with a new project, entitled ‘Buttergolem’.
With his self-titled debut album back in October of 2021, German producer Aroma von Troisdorf introduced the world to his amalgamation of styles which encapsulate influence from cosmic disco, post punk, Italo, dub, ambient, electronica and much more, delivered in a way that is uniquely his. Here following on from
the acclaimed album he returns once again to the Steddy & Keshavara helmed Papercup Records, based out of Berlin/Cologne, to take listeners deeper into his sonic world.
Leading the way on the release is ‘Kaffeebar Andromeda’, a heavily dub influenced opener employing swaying sub bass, spiralling echoes, spooky metallic chimes, modulating resonant synth lines and organic
drums. ‘Nils Kamerun’ follows next and edges things into new age realms courtesy of multilayered, dreamy synth textures and meditative vocal chants before the latter half of the composition introduces a chuggy electronic groove.
Title-track ‘Buttergolem’ is up next and sees Aroma von Troisdorf fuse murky bass stabs, 80’s tinged synth melodies and arpeggios and punk influenced vocal lines with a gritty, swinging drum machine workout. The cinematic Nullnacht from the debut album makes a reappearance here for the vinyl release (formerly only available on tape). ‘Gabionentraum’ then rounds out the project, nodding towards Italo disco and early 90’s Italo house via ethereal pad lines, twinkling stab sequences, squelchy acid bass licks and crunchy 4/4 drums.

Her phone screen stared back at her, its brightness forced her to squint in the darkness of her bedroom. She poured over her phone night and day; getting lost in apps that nobody needed; falling into video wormholes in the depths of social media; doom scrolling sections of the internet that she never knew existed. Without it she felt as though she were missing a limb, it had become an extension of her very being - how could she possibly live in a world without cute cat videos, emoji conversations and countless filters at her fingertips?

Leeds-based independent radio station NARR was launched just a few years ago as a space to share and discover experimental music from across the world, from new beat and post-punk to ballroom and noise. As a way to raise money for their studio costs and the running of the station, they've announced their first compilation cassette that's comprised of 10 tracks from NARR residents and friends. Made up of music from the likes of Monophonik, Bleaching Agent and Zmatsusi, the release digs into the outsider sounds at the heart of the station including new wave, synth-pop, avant-garde electronics and dubwise selections.

LUCYNA TAPE 01: Nowa Ziemia [LUCYNA002] is the first installment of a brand new series of compilations that tries to capture the elusive spirit of mysterious LUCYNA festival - the highly conceptual party and the holiday of half year's - an imaginary tradition that the crew tries to cultivate since 2018 experimenting with the form of an event and doing it bit different each time.


'Nowa Ziemia' - the name of one of the scenes at this year's edition - became a sort of laboratory for contemporary dance music taken beyond the obvious context of the club into the bosom of nature. Just like inclusive gatherings away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this compilation provokes reflection on dance as a form of individual expression.

Dutch dance troupe ISOTOOP inaugurates its label with a quaternity of sly rhythms to mystify and elevate. Adhering to ISOTOOP’s unstated yet practised mantra of many growing as one, the culprits behind the pieces are none other than core family members Shoal (Kenny Kneefel) and Vand (Viktor van der Riet), unifying for the first time under the name of Voal.

The longtime friends and compatriots in sound meld together to form a distinct entity; aligned as one, but audibly a product of their individual approaches. Across the four cuts, the two producers share a singular vision of club music, designed to initiate movement and shake the floor, while leaving essential space for thought and imagination.

From the low-down and dirty funk of ‘Carpet Crawler’ to ‘Take My Hand’s bleary and dazed downtempo, evaporating in its final moments into transcendent closing ambience, Voal journey through a wide landscape of club electronics with a fervent pulse. Pinned between the two slower joints are ‘Luficer’, a consecutive tumble through iterated rolling percussion and minimal basslines, and the kinetic, high-tempo fiesta of ‘Saffron’, a sure-fire favourite for the ecstatic midnight.

Thick like warm tar, and airy as steam, Voal’s debut whets the appetite for more.
