In the Primitive EP featured here Zombies in Miami bring two stunning originals that offer up both the light and the dark. The title track Primitive is a fun discofied tune with floating flutes, a cut up vocal, and a bassline full of bounce. Contrast that with Tizane that gets witchy right from the start with ethereal arps, ominous synth sweeps, and vocal chants that summon the dark spirits. 

Joining the EP is Jakarta-based artist Jonathan Kusuma who has previously released on I’m a Cliche, Love on the Rocks, Nein, and Machine Limited among others. In his remix of Tizane, Jonathan Kusuma strips down the original giving it a heavier drive with a methodical intention on the guitars and vocals while keeping the dark vibes alive.

“Vidita” EP (Global Hybrid Records / 42 Records) is a taste of the new album by Go Dugong (Italian producer based in Milan), coming out in March 2018. A global music devotee, Go Dugong continues a journey, started with “Novanta” (42 Records / Fresh Yo!) in 2015, through exotic sounds, passing from Africa to Latin America, always trying to mix instead of embracing a prede ned genre. If the topic of “Novanta” was that of the metropolitan cultural clash, this album was born with the aim to dig deeper and nd its roots. 

The inspiration comes from the enchantment of the rst civilizations, whose myths and legends are inevitably linked to nature and the universe; This generates songs inspired by tribal beliefs, mythological gures, rituals and esotericism which, not by chance, often refer to divinities or superior civilizations arrived from outer space. The result is again a hybrid of rhythms, styles and musical genres: Afro, Andean and Amazonian music, dub, psychedelic and cosmic blend with the aim of telling a journey; Go Dugong’s research leitmotiv. 

The single “Vidita” is a tribute to the folk music of the Argentine Northwest; the wild song of the Andes is played by Miriam García, Argentinean musician and actress as well as one of the greatest researchers and performers of coplas, poetic compositions...  more

Happy Halloween LAMP family. We have a really nice treat for you today! A premier from no_ip from one of our favorite labels Clash Lion. The label headed up by Shall Ocin TERR and Daniel Watts has been putting out some really great music since it began in 2017.  We featured Risa Taniguchi a while back and are excited to share a new one from their upcoming album sampler Clash Culture Vol. 1.

Set for release on Friday November 1st is Clash Culture Vol.1 a diverse collection of music highlighting a talented group artists. We loved this debut release from no_ip and are excited to have the chance to share his debut release for Clash Lion. "It's Wrong" is one of those tracks that sneaks up on you. It has a great little groove that has a bit of a tribal edge, with a chugging bass line that is easy to get into rhythm with.  Where the track gets interesting is after the vocal that has the title sample in it. no_ip adds in some really epic synths that take  things to a whole other level. There is some really great sound design going on with big epic horns and some crazy darting synths that remind me of the sounds from a couple of different Star Wars explosions. There are some really interesting little percs he throws in and the way he opens and closes the filters on the saw synths bouncing around in the background really adds some fun dynamics to the track.

Look out for this one and the others coming out on Culture Clash Vol. for Clash Lion.

A core member of the Oberbaumbrücke family delivers a sleek label debut.

As the club’s technician, Joris Biesmans (aka Biesmans) has been an invaluable fixture at Watergate for the last five years. A true audiophile, when he’s not tuning WG’s soundsystem to perfection, he’s building modular synths and honing his studio craft.

Having recently quit his technician job to focus on making music full time, he’s a new addition to the WG agency roster and follows suits with an impressive debut EP on the label, after releases on Correspondent, AEON and Adana Twins’ TAU. The title track ‘Electric Love’ is a chugging slice of electro, marked by lush key progressions and an attitude-drenched vox from newcomer Idorski. Marvin & Guy Amplifier are tapped for remix duties and inject the original with a celestial melody line primed for end-of- night moments. ‘Technician on a Mission’ is driven by a polished bassline that modulates throughout, while 80s synths give it a retro-future stamp. ‘City Boy’ is a modern day synthwave gem, reinforcing the breadth of sound espoused by Watergate Records.

Earlier this year we were happy to release Ferrari's first ever track on AEON; a crafty remix of Alex Niggemann's 'Rise of the Machines'. Towards the end of November, the Italian producer's 'Jungle Boogie' EP will brighten up the darker months of the year. Ferrari wrote the record during Italy's strict lockdown evenings and first days of easing the restrictive measures, which created a sound of both frenzy and relieve.
The record's title track creates expectations, which it meets, but not in the exact way you expected it. 'Jungle Boogie' starts with native percussion rhythms, but swiftly evolves into a fever dream with altered bird sounds that create an extraterrestrial impression. While female vocals are trying to get to you, you get lost more and more in the acid jungle Ferrari created. While the animals celebrate the temporary absence of mankind. 'Trancektor' immediately spirals down towards even deeper parts of your unconscious. This time, however, the world you find yourself in feels more like an 80s arcade game. Circling, Italo disco-inspired synths swirl around you as the spatial sounding beat runs on. The third track on the EP, 'Tellurico', is an uplifting tune with forceful keys that push you forward. The choir hypnotises this song's listeners all the way to the end. The closing track of the 'Jungle Boogie' EP brings you into calmer waters, allowing you to recover a bit from your little journey. However, 'Freakin'' intensifies as it goes forward elevating you one last time.
AEON invited Whitesquare - well known from his releases on Dj Tennis infamous „Life & Death" - to rework 'Jungle Boogie's title track. He silenced the birds, but the trippiness of the track stays, while some new tropical animals enter the stage.
This storytelling EP of five tracks shows some excellent curatorship of the Berlin-based label.
