Being critical of gender ideology is not right wing.  Sex and sexuality are not the same thing. There is no such thing as being "born in the wrong body."  Just like there were no Scientologists before Scientology there were no "trans kids" before transgenderism.  "Gender Affirming" care involves synthetic hormones and often surgeries.  The vast majority of youth with gender dysphoria, distress realize after puberty that they are not the opposite sex but rather gay.  Disappointing that you never consider the old wine new bottle misogyny and homophobia aspects of gender ideology. I have some queries and concerns regarding the leftist enjoyment of trans and being agents of GenderSpeak  What is more ideological/religious that the notion that our self/soul is gendered and sometimes the gendersoul doesn’t match the body? It is curious, is it not, why so many gleefully jumped on the Cult of the Female Penis and Male Vagina boat?  Many on the left REALLY like the idea/brand “trans kids”.  But what’s progressive about encouraging the hatred of one’s body, or the BS that girl or boy; man or woman is a choice, to the point of professional assisted (“affirmed”) self-harm via puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, double mastectomies and genital mutilation? Why is supporting “gender affirming care” enjoyable, but not the affirmation of an anorexic’s body image via liposuction and stomach stapling?  Also, why is it that there are infinite genders but “gender reassignment” only goes mtf and ftm? 1/

What is more self-destructive, undermining than the drive to become what one can never be.  No wonder “transwoman” hate TERFs – we say what they know, but cannot believe - that no matter what they say, wear, how many hormones they take, and no matter what they cut-off or add on they will never be a woman.  The truth is that only people who become women (adult human females) are girls. What about the leftist enjoyment around “trans kids” and “trans women” that turns the monstering and pillorying of women who refuse to comply with the lie that a man is a woman if he says so into a virtuous, noble act?  How about the Enjoyment around “cising” women into a subset so a small minority of men can be celebrated for cheating in women’s sports, interloping into women’s spaces, and calling lesbians not interested in their “girl dick” “transphobs”? Why the wilful collaboration with the gender industry – a growth market for the foreseeable future. 2/

Sky is the limit when it comes 2 gender products/services.  Today’s parents much rather have a trans kid than a gay 1.  Nothing homophobic about that! Y the enjoyment over pretending that men who “feel” or “identify” as a woman (whatever that means) r as much of 1 as an adult human female? Y do u enjoy placing a small group of men’s gender confusion, fantasy, fetish as always & everywhere more important than the autonomy, dignity & privacy of women? Y the disavowal of detransitioners? Y propagate the harmful lie that sex is mutable?  At what point along the adding or taking away something from a human male does he become female? Reason says never, all u will get is an increasingly altered human male. How can we have women’s rights if a man becomes a woman if they say so?  Sex in law cannot be both binary (male/female) &an infinite spectrum of indistinct subjective “gender identities”?  How is compelling people to parrot that 2+2=5 not degrading?  4/

Hi both (and others) You contrast morality with politics.  Could you define the two terms; what is politics other than bringing about that which the majority believe to be the best way to organise society? As always, thanks.

I have a question, is guilt or feeling guilty the enjoyment produced as a result of the command of the superego? Is this the same thing as giving up on one's desire? How can we separate desire from drive? Then what does it mean to avow one's desire? Sorry too many questions but they're are chained and tangled together.

i would like to disagree strongly, and argue that actually what the german team did is a clearly moralistic act. to mistake a moralistic act for a political act is a problem. football players who earn millions annually had no problem at all to end their support to queer communities when they are threatened by fifa with yellow cards, which means they might be not allowed to play a game if they get another yellow card, i.e. they will earn less money. what did the german team protest against? against homophoy? that would have been wonderful. we can’t have enough of similar actions. but how come that the most homophobic football association is protesting against homophoby only in Qatar and not in Germany as well? or maybe protesting against fifa? but then why not taking the risk of putting the badge as well? to play it safe, without being willing to pay the price, is not a political act at all, but it is a gesture to prove moral superiority. white moral superiority over “the uncivilised”.

Vertebrae Stretch 014: Wisecarver

GOkU, aka Glasgow-based artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Ashton, is set to return with a brand new self-released EP of cosmic jazz and psychedelic, named ‘Evolution Practice’, following his 2023 debut album for Worm Discs. We are pleased to host the video premiere of “GOkUFunk”.

‘Evolution Practice’ marks a new chapter in the ongoing story of GOkU, an artist whose work draws inspiration from the Monkey King, a figure adapted from the Taoist classic 'Journey to the West'. 

Recorded in Glasgow during the early months of 2024, this EP takes a more introspective and pared-down approach compared to the expansive jazz ensemble of GOkU’s previous album, '11:11'. 

The project blends elements of spiritual jazz, Latin rhythms, and hip-hop, while also exploring ambient sounds. Despite the shift in tone, the EP retains GOkU's signature blend of playful energy and thoughtful introspection.

‘Evolution Practice’ delves into new recording techniques and highlights various themes emerging from improvisations. It represents the ongoing refinement of GOkU's personal approach to music-making.

The EP features some of Glasgow’s leading musicians, namely Norman Villeroux (bass), Ben Vardi (congas), and Alex Palmer and Finn Rosenbaum (drums). All other instruments are played by GOkU, his principal instruments being flute and guitar.
