Sorry my comment really relates more to your discussion of Penis Envy which I just went back and listened to. In addition to a radical position and a cynical one maybe its also worth considering a crisis theory or entropic kind of position which would be that in so far as capitalism produces psychic immiseration related to impossible-to-acheive fantasies of phallic posession on a wide scale this does not necessarily redound to its successful reproduction as a system. Isn't there some at least potential connection between liberating desire and simple repetition in so far as the bad infinity of limitless accumulation is ultimately just a presupposition or fantasy of capital rather than any real type of repetition we actually enact as capitalist subjects? I feel like if there is a way to close the split you guys approached apropos the personal versus theoretical it would be to talk about 'more capitalist than capitalism itself' ie one life's not fitting can articulate the systemic non-all

I think it goes too far to say power is not a problem, especially if you’re concerned with the movement for revolutionary socialism, but I agree it’s productive to push against the polular tendency towards theorising it as *the* problem

I agree with the general position all three of you take on gender, but there is one issue that has been troubling me in terms of where this position leads: the "trans" movement. If "Singularity" is to be the sacred cow, someone who feels masculine inside but is a woman physically should be embraced as such. Those who believe in singularity would accept any atypical or contradictory combinations of characteristics, such as a woman who changes tires, a bodybuilder who loves to knit, or a man who feels like a woman inside. Transforming their bodies to match the socially constructed notion of masculinity reinforces the gender binary. Let's take an extreme example. If, in the future, transitioning becomes cheap, safe, and seamless, and if everyone were to transform their bodies to fit their internal gender, gender binary will become more extreme. But, this idea is highly cancellable today. What is your take on this?

Hmm as a finn myself I can't agree with Ruti's assessment that we there isn't a binary conception of gender in Finland. Especially the reference to the lack of a gendered pronoun seems irrelevant and language-reductionist.

Her comments on the discourse around prime minister Marin are also just blatantly incorrect. The opposition's go-to smear of the prime minister and our cabinet is that it is full of "girls" and "cashiers". Marin's age and gender are very politicized.

Brad Rau received a scholarship to attend New England Conservatory (NEC), and received a Master’s degree in 2015 with academic honors. At NEC, he studied classical guitar under Eliot Fisk who was the last pupil of Andres Segovia. Brad has performed in countless masterclasses with instructors including; Sharon Isbin, and Andrew York both Grammy award winning guitarists. Brad’s personal learning methods have enabled him to memorizing over 8 hours of the most difficult repertoire for the classical guitar. Brad was a semi-finalist in the International Texas Guitar Competition of 2008.  Brad currently studies under Grammy awarding winnings guitarist Jason Vieaux. Brad has been performing music for over 20 years all over Boston, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, as a classical guitarist, rock guitarist, and rock drummer.  Brad currently teaching music lessons at Taylor’s Music in West Chester, and performs every Friday at the Brandywine Distillery.  Brad has mentored hundreds of students of all ages, styles and levels. Many of Brad’s students have gone on to develop their own music careers and teaching studios.

Brad’s unique teaching style combines music, physics, philosophy and humor, making him a well-rounded instructor for a variety of students.
