This song I love for many years and played it again and again ... It's a free improvisation, including an allusion to "Leningrad". The original wonderful songs of Billy Joel you find on his great 1989 album "Storm Front".

This is one of my all-time favorites and Elton John is one of my all-time heroes. I dared to record a cover version of this wonderful track. You can find it on the album "The Fox" (1981).

Dieser Track basiert auf einer meiner ersten Rockmusik-Kompositionen, welche Ende der 1980er-Jahre für erste Schülerband-Projekte entstand. Ein instrumentaler Remix schwebte mir schon lange vor, ich habe ihn nun mit viel Herzblut sowie einem Mix aus freudiger und melancholischer Erinnerung nach vielen Wochen fertiggestellt. Von bombastischen Synthflächen über teils technolastige, teils synthpopartige Rhythmen bis hin zu uplifting Leadsounds und einem fetzigen E-Gitarrensolo ist für jeden etwas dabei. Ich widme dieses Stück meinem langjährigen Freund und früheren Bandkollegen Daniel.

This track is based on one of my first rock music compositions, which was created in the late 1980s for the first school band projects. An instrumental remix has been in my mind for a long time, I have now completed it after many weeks with a lot of passion and a mix of happy and melancholic memories. From bombastic synth pads to partly techno-like, partly synthpop-like rhythms to uplifting lead sounds and a groovy e-guitar solo, there is something for everyone. I dedicate this track to my longtime friend and former bandmate Daniel.

Flying High Over Soundclouds (... another 80s ride^^)

"Pulse Of Steel" ist zurück!: Mein brandneuer Track "Race Against Time" knüpft musikalisch an meine auf Soundcloud sehr erfolgreichen "Pulse Of Steel" Tracks an und wird - wie meine letzte Neuveröffentlichung - Teil meines bald erscheinenden vierten Albums "Dancing Pulse" sein, auf welchem ich die musikalischen Motive "Dancing Spirits" und "Pulse Of Steel" vereinen werde. Dieser aktuelle Track ist Part IV der "Pulse Of Steel" Reihe. Das Stück ist sehr kraftvoll und rhythmisch, es bewegt sich nach dem gut zweiminütigen energiegeladenen Intro in einem Flow irgendwo zwischen Techno, Trance und ProgElectro. Diverse sequenzerartige Läufe fließen zusammen. Zum Ende erkennt ihr vielleicht eine kurze Anspielung auf die Themen von "Today Is The Day 2022" und "Moonrunning 2022". So, jetzt Kopfhörer auf und Lautstärke hochdrehen!
"Pulse Of Steel" is back!: My brand new track "Race Against Time" musically ties in with my very successful "Pulse Of Steel" tracks on Soundcloud and will - like my last new release - be part of my forthcoming fourth album "Dancing Pulse", on which I will combine the musical motives "Dancing Spirits" and "Pulse Of Steel". This current track is part IV of the "Pulse Of Steel" series. The piece is very powerful and rhythmic, after the two-minute energetic intro it moves in a flow somewhere between techno, trance and prog-electro. Various sequencer-like runs flow together. At the end you might recognize a short allusion to the themes of "Today Is The Day 2022" and "Moonrunning 2022".
Now put on your headphones and turn up the volume!

Pulse Of Steel Part IV - Race Against Time

Dieses gut vierminütige, melodisch-getragene und entspannende Stück für Synth und Gitarre geht aus einem gemeinsamen Projekt mit meinem Schulkollegen Hans-Georg Heck hervor. Am 23.07.23 präsentierten wir in der katholischen Kirche St. Jakobus in Birkenfeld im Rahmen der Reihe „Impuls“ Bilder, Texte und Musik zu den Themen „Jakobsweg, Pilgern, Aufbrechen und unterwegs sein“. Mit Hans-Georg war ich 2008 und 2009 mit Schülergruppen etwa 10 Tage auf dem Jakobsweg unterwegs. Er selbst war zudem noch öfters dort. Ganz „old school“ per Diaprojektor zeigte er Bilder von diesen Unternehmungen und las Texte rund um das Thema „Weg“. Dazwischen und z.T. als Untermalung spielte ich auf meinem Korg Krome Synth kleinere Musikstücke, z.T. neu komponiert, z.T. Abwandlungen bereits vorhandener Kompositionen. Dieses Stück ist neu und ich spielte es ohne Gitarre, zum einen zu einer Bildfolge, aber auch (ohne die Perkussions) als Untermalung eines Textes. Zuhause habe ich spontan mal wieder zur E-Gitarre gegriffen und noch eine Melodie dazu gespielt. Insgesamt gibt es fünf Stücke, die ich mit Bildfolgen und evtl. auch dem eingesprochenen Text noch auf YouTube veröffentlichen will, auf Spotify dann ggf. als EP oder kürzeres Album, alle Stücke sind etwa 3,5 bis 4 Minuten lang. Das abgebildete kleine Pilgerfigürchen erwarb ich damals auf dem Jakobsweg.

This four-minute, melodically sustained and relaxing piece for synth and guitar is the result of a joint project with my schoolmate Hans-Georg Heck. On July 23rd, 2023 we presented pictures, texts and music on the topics “Jakobsweg, pilgrimage, setting out and being on the move” in the Catholic Church of St. Jakobus in Birkenfeld as part of the “Impulse” series. In 2008 and 2009, I spent about 10 days with Hans-Georg on the Way of St. James with school groups. He himself was there more often. Very "old school" with a slide projector, he showed pictures of these activities and read texts on the subject of "path". In between and partly as background music, I played smaller pieces of music on my Korg Krome synth, partly newly composed, partly modifications of existing compositions. This piece is new and I played it without the guitar, on the one hand to accompany a sequence of images, but also (without the percussion) to accompany a text. At home I spontaneously picked up the electric guitar again and played a melody. There are a total of five pieces that I want to publish on YouTube with sequences of images and possibly also the spoken text, on Spotify then possibly as an EP or a shorter album, all pieces are about 3.5 to 4 minutes long. I acquired the small pilgrim figurine pictured on the Way of St. James.

The Pilgrim

Inspiriert vom sonnigen Spätsommerwetter dieser Tage entstand dieser kurze verträumte Track, der genauso unmittelbar anfängt, wie er aufhört. Eine minimalistische, aber atmosphärisch sehr dichte Momentaufnahme.
Auf dem Bild ist das Gemälde „Spaziergang auf der Brücke“ des Expressionisten August Macke zu sehen.

Inspired by the sunny late summer weather of these days, this short, dreamy track was created, which begins as immediately as it ends. A minimalist but atmospherically very dense snapshot.

Come Walk With Me

Brand new!: „Come Dream With Me“. Was als Spielerei mit GarageBand begann, nachdem ich zu dieser spannenden Musik-App eine Online-Fortbildung gemacht hatte (insbesondere für die Verwendung im Musikunterricht), endete mit dieser Komposition, welche musikalisch nahtlos an „Come Walk With Me“ anknüpft. Das Gitarrenriff sowie die Percussions sind vorgefertigte Loops von GarageBand; Bass, Synthfläche und Lead-Sound habe ich individuell dazu eingespielt (Sounds von LogicPro). Viel Spaß mit dieser entspannenden Träumerei.
Brand new!: “Come Dream With Me”. What started as a play with GarageBand after I had done online training on this exciting music app (especially for use in music lessons) ended with this composition, which musically follows seamlessly on “Come Walk With Me”. The guitar riff and percussions are pre-made loops from GarageBand; I recorded the bass, synth pad and lead sound individually (sounds from LogicPro). Have fun with this relaxing reverie.

Diese Komposition entstand heute aus dem Moment heraus, an einem recht tristen, verregneten Tag Ende Oktober, welcher vom Ende des Herbstes kündet. Ich widme es dem unvergessenen Pianisten und Komponisten George Winston, welcher am 4. Juni diesen Jahres starb.
This composition was created today out of the moment, on a rather dreary, rainy day at the end of October, which heralds the end of autumn. I dedicate it to the unforgettable pianist and composer George Winston, who died on June 4th this year.

Diese Komposition schreibt das Thema "Pulse Of Steel" fort, welches sehr rhythmusbetonte, kraftvolle Elektronikmusik darstellt, die zum Teil Techno-Passagen enthält oder Ausflüge ins Progressive unternimmt. Part V enthält in den abschließenden Schlagzeugpassagen sowie in der sich auf- und abwärtsbewegenden Melodie eine bewusste Anleihe an das ursprüngliche erste Stück, welches auch schon auf dem Album "Neverending" erschien, wo es die Vertonung eines Bildmotives darstellt. Part V ist Teil des gerade erschienenen neuen Albums "Dancing Pulse", welches die Themen "Dancing Spirits" und "Pulse Of Steel" vereint. Ihr findet es auf Spotify und Bandcamp.

This composition continues the theme "Pulse Of Steel", which is very rhythmic, powerful electronic music, some of which contains techno passages or ventures into progressive. Part V contains, in the final drum passages and in the up and down moving melody, a conscious borrowing from the original first piece, which also appeared on the album "Neverending", where it sets an image motif to music. Another Moon

BRAND NEW: My first release for more than a half year. It's another powerful part of the successful theme "Pulse Of Steel" - about 3,5 years after composing Part II and about 20(!) years after Part I (meanwhile you can find Part I on my debut CD "Neverending", too). Again it's a very rhythmic and melodic track (after a gloomy intro). So: Let's go and enjoy! :)

Pulse Of Steel Part III - Coming Back To Life

Diese neue Komposition widme ich meiner geliebten Mutter, Ruth Agnes Kruhl, welche heute vor einem Jahr starb. Die Eingangsmelodie basiert auf dem geistlichen Abendlied „Nun ruhen alle Wälder“ von Paul Gerhardt (1607 – 1676). Die vorletzte Strophe daraus hat sie uns Kindern oft als Gute Nacht Lied vorgesungen:

„Breit aus die Flügel beide,
o Jesu, meine Freude,
und nimm dein Küchlein ein.
Will Satan mich verschlingen,
so lass die Englein singen:
'Dies Kind soll unverletzet sein.' “

Der zweite, „elektronischere“ Teil beschreibt zunächst die Gefühle der Trauer und Nachdenklichkeit, zum Ende hin dann aber auch der dankbaren Erinnerung und hoffnungsvollen Zuversicht, dass unsere Lieben auch nach dem Tod bei uns und um uns sind. 


I dedicate this new composition to my beloved mother, Ruth Agnes Kruhl, who died a year ago. The entrance melody is based on the spiritual evening song "Now Resting All Forests" by Paul Gerhardt (1607 - 1676). The penultimate verse of it she often sung us children as a good night song:

"Spread out the wings, O Jesus, my joy, and take in your little one. If Satan will devour me, let the little angels sing: 'This child shall be uninjured.' "

The second "more electronic" part first describes the feelings of grief and thoughtfulness, but then, finally, the grateful memory and hopeful confidence that our loved ones are with us and around us even after death.

This is my contribution to the "6 Note Sequence Challenge" by Piano Soundboard (www.facebook.com/groups/1682015045398733/).
Here are the participation rules: "Using the given sequence of 6 notes, compose variations, improvisation, development (a la sonata), fugue, or other form that uses the specific notes. The instrument I learned first was the cello, later on the piano. In my childhood and youth I took part in several orchestras and choirs. At the age of 17 I started playing in rock bands; in 1989 me and my friend Daniel ("Vocebasso" and "Liedschmied", you find him here) founded the progressive rock band "The Lynx"
(my functions: keyboards, cello, backing vocals, songwriting and arrangement). In the early 90s I became more and more enthusiastic about electronic music and the German broadcast radio show "Schwingungen" with Winfrid Trenkler. With the help of my first synthesizers Kawai K1 and Korg T3 I started to compose tracks. After using the internal sequencers I discovered the possibilities of Cubase. 
Beside my activities in the cover rock band "Silent Sound", several projects I initiated in my function as a teacher for music in a secondary school and the singer- /songwriter project "WortSpiel" (https://www.facebook.com/DuoWortSpiel) I never stopped composing electronic music in the last 20 years. 
My music is most influenced by orchestral music (classic, soundtracks), progressive rock and pop music and - of course - by electronic music. I will never forget, when I was six years old and my brother put on the record "Oxygene IV" by Jean-Michel Jarre. Another track, which gave me magic moments, was "Force Majeure" by Tangerine Dream. The year 1990 meant the final electronic wake-up call, namely in the form of Ron Boots and his great record "Dreamscape". It's one of my favorites to this day.
The themes of my music are generally the nature, journeys and landscapes, personal relations and emotions and - within these associations - often the longing for inner and outer freedom, for the breakout of boundaries and fears. 
Wiesenberg: That's the maiden name of my mother (by trade a vocalist), which refers back to my roots and to the long way, my ancestors took from Salzburg (Austria) through Königsberg / Kaliningrad (Russia) to Rheda-Wiedenbrück (Germany, North Rhine Westphalia). I walked on - through Lower Saxony to Rhineland-Palatinate. Next stop: Who knows? In the end I am an expellee and a hermit - an "eremit".
