short repetitive beep-beep-beep here is from an unidentified creature. The sound comes from under leaf litter and from the trunks of trees. Sometimes it sounds like a reversing truck. Perhaps it is a reversing worm?!

I was just in Borneo in early November, it does sound just like this.  Truly fabulous.  Add orangutan noises when they come crashing through the undergrowth, and it's right out of the movie Jurassic Park.

Recorded in primary rainforest at Sepilok Forest Reserve, Sabah, Malaysia.

Recorded in the heart of The Grampians, this album captures the sounds of a rushing stream and birdsong from the surrounding forest. 

Seamlessly divided into three tracks, the album was recorded on a single afternoon by a river in Grampians National Park Victoria. The birdsong on this particular album is subtle and mostly in the background, with the stream being the prominent feature. However, a number of bird species can be heard including Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo, Gang-gang Cockatoo, Superb Fairywren, Grey Fantail, Yellow-faced Honeyeater, Eastern Spinebill, New Holland Honeyeater, White-throated Treecreeper & Spotted Pardalote. 

With the natural 'white-noise' from the rushing stream, this recording is ideal for noise-masking, as a sleeping aid, and for sufferers of tinnitus.

This is a sample from the album 'Cape York: Melaleuca Swamp', recorded on the the edge of a remote melaleuca (paperbark) swamp in Cape York, far northern Australia. The microphones were placed near the edge of the wetland, adjacent to dry tropical woodland and with an open lilypad-covered lagoon in the background.  Throughout the album there is a nice natural mix of early morning sounds from wetland and woodland species in this unique landscape.

Some strange sounds from the Australian rainforest! The unique calls of Wompoo Fruit Doves, Spotted Catbirds and the sharp 'whipcracks' of Eastern Whipbirds make for an unusual soundscape. Recorded in Girringun National Park in far north Queensland. 

Other bird species heard on this track include Yellow-breasted Boatbill, Superb Fruit Dove, Grey-headed Robin & Lewin's Honeyeater.

Girringun Rainforest Morning, Queensland, Australia

Langtang National Park protects a significant area of the Nepal Himalaya, and due to the huge altitudinal range (almost 6500m) is home to an incredibly diverse range of plants and animals.

Early April is still quite cold at this elevation, and the first of the spring flowers had only just started to bloom. Several bird species remain in the mountains all year, while others migrate up from the lowlands to take advantage of the short himalayan summer in order to breed. This album is the result of several recordings made roughly between 2500m and 3500m in altitude, in a variety of different sub-alpine habitats.
