Self-taught producer, art director and label head. Though for the past 16 years his repertoire has drawn references anywhere from club culture's obscure fringes and caustic industrial clatter to musique concrète discretion and knuckle-dragging rock — it all feeds into his sense of sonic intensities and improvisational, organic production values. Lund's work is fixated on close examination of timbre and texture, at sword's point with passive listening. More recently he has shifted into employing contextual methods of capturing and processing sound, twisting into bewildering new forms.

Known for his clever sense of melody, diverse style, disciplined work ethic and apparent love of his instrument, East L.A. native, Ruben Reza is a guitarist like no other.

Playing guitar since the age of 14, Ruben bought his first guitar from a friend. “I didn’t know anything about the guitar at all; I dug the chrome pickups, knobs and switches. I thought it just looked so cool!” He was instantly captured by the sound coming out of his 8-track-player-turned-guitar amp. This began a relentless pursuit to listen, learn, and emulate every piece of guitar music he heard. Within three weeks Ruben joined his first band.

Ruben once received a call back from an audition for the lead guitar spot in Ozzy Osbourne’s band. He has also recorded with members of the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Ruben was recently tasked with creating background music for a fashion show catwalk.

Ruben currently writes and records for his personal project The Ruben Reza Group. That music can be heard here on Soundcloud. Ruben also writes and records whatever pulls on his creative muscle.
