Quick Rinse Vol. 16 - Momentum

Pt 1. of this month’s LiT MiX double feature on Vancouver’s Audio Social crew comes via Lil Cis. This set showcases her love of house music, hypnotizing our hips through waves of deep rave rhythms. 

Shuffling shakers, congas and wood blocks create an organic Afro-Latin percussive momentum, within progressive techy synth sweeps and kicks for a very modern global club vibe. 

Vocals range from folk to woke including a couple tracks from Columbian diva Martina Camargo, and Missy Elliot in the same set, for a mix that is truly muy caliente.  

A relative newcomer to DJing, Lil Cis has quickly proven her versatile tastes and skills mixing between untz untz and wub wub realms of house and dubstep. As a co-founder of @goodnightout_vancouver she works to improve safety and promote consent culture in the nightlife community. 

With @audiosocialvancouver Lil Cis puts her event planning skills to work organizing well-curated live shows, livestreams and a mix series alongside crew-mates @thujadubs, @destratavan (LiT MiX 031) and @handsometiger (LiT MiX 004).

One of my favourite sets I've played in a while, absolutely love the vibe on this one.
Started with some smooth 2steppy shuffle and house into uk breaks, into some light and medium techno, into dubstep, then ramped up through some 150 light jungle into liquid dnb for a while, then into some moody breakbeats again, then house and through some weird 100bmp stuff before winding down with some lofi and hip hop.

Turn up from staycay to slaycay with J.F.Killah’s LiT MIX! This long-time west coast selecta reps @dnbgirls and @shahdjs, and is half of DJ/production duo @levrige along with partner @erski1. So far in 2020 they've released tracks on @deviant-audio and @thedreamersrecordings, and a DJ mix via @footwork-jungle. 
 
J.F.Killah always catches our attention with her multi-genre solo DJing, bouncing through all bpms. Her set at Pastel Party in East Van at The Rattle early in 2019 was so bumpin’, after we dismounted from straddling the speakers we knew we had to ask her to record a LiT MIX. Lucky us her answer was this 40-track trip through dancehall and booty bass, baile funk and footwork-jungle… buckle up!

Since 2007 The Willisist has been pushing the underground in Vancouver. With well over 300 shows hosted, at just about every venue the city had to offer, showcasing international headliners as well as the best new and veteran locals.  Still known for the now legendary False-o-Ween series, some massive NYE events at W2 and The Hive Climbing gym, and long running local nights with Nautilus and the Back Stage Lounge, he's also been a regular at Basscoast, and played Shambs and Wicked Woods. 

With a genuine love for Drum and Bass he has opened or hosted for the likes of Calibre, D-Bridge, Andy C, Dub FX, Dub Phizix, Blu Mar Ten, LSB, Spectrasoul, Breakage, High Contrast, Pendulum, Von D, Netsky and dozens more.
