Live recording of my 1pm set on a beautiful Monday afternoon at Moontribe in Nov. The day after the craziness of the full moon has always been one of my favorite times at the gathering. Honored to play and help all the folks get down to some groovy tunes.

Recorded live at a friends sun-drenched outdoor gathering at the stunning Oxbow river complex in 2019. (Big up Amity Group) 

I had honestly forgot everything about this mix until Rob from Deep N Bass reminded me that I had done one for them last weekend. We popped it on at our SuperBros weekend and I got to hear it more or less for the first time. 

For the mix cover I grabbed 8 different types of topographic maps of Oxbow Regional Park and used noise to collage between them.

Codename favourites Woken Balance & Trident take steps into the darker more introspective realms of atmospheric Drum & Bass with 'Void EP'.

Channelling the sound of 90's Techstep, the release opens with the dreamy tones and stepping rhythms of the title track before giving way to the Prototype-era influenced 'Vulcan'. Things take a lighter turn with the stunning dream state and catchy riffs of 'Times Change', before Trident brings the EP to a close as he takes us back into the darkness with the surging bass tones and warped futurism of 'Galatea'.

With his shortly forthcoming release for Aufect Recordings, the Doctor has been focusing his recent efforts on the burgeoning realm of hybrid 160/170 bpm bass music. As such, it's only appropriate that his Booms and Claps Guest Mix would feature the freshest and most forward-thinking of those sounds: deep, dark, high tempo, halftime madness. The Willisist
Deep, rolling Drum and Bass. Heavy thick 85. Blissful liquid and half time. Expanding into 130 breakbeats, tech house, 2-step, low fi, dubstep etc. If it's good it's good. 
Close your eyes and listen closely, there's layers. 

Since 2007 The Willisist has been pushing the underground in Vancouver. With well over 300 shows hosted, at just about every venue the city had to offer, showcasing international headliners as well as the best new and veteran locals.  Still known for the now legendary False-o-Ween series, some massive NYE events at W2 and The Hive Climbing gym, and long running local nights with Nautilus and the Back Stage Lounge, he's also been a regular at Basscoast, and played Shambs and Wicked Woods. 

With a genuine love for Drum and Bass he has opened or hosted for the likes of Calibre, D-Bridge, Andy C, Dub FX, Dub Phizix, Blu Mar Ten, LSB, Spectrasoul, Breakage, High Contrast, Pendulum, Von D, Netsky and dozens more.
