Enduro Disco continues his mesmerising run of form on Exploited with another
spellbinding three-track release.
‘Julio’ is unmistakably his handiwork: a classy, spacious slice of modern, dubbed-out
disco. Warm, Balearic bass underpins a haze of chopped-up, resplendent disco
string samples and tripped-out, unintelligible vocals at the core of the track. Flurries
of saccharine, mellifluous synths soar and glide from various pockets of the track,
and deft conga rhythms fill in the gaps. More dramatic synth touches and triangle
16ths keep the track captivating to the very last moment.
‘One Jam’ is similarly dreamy, where plucked 8-bit-esque melody twinkles over
chugging bass and breathy male vocal harmonies. A triumphant feel envelops this
track, with shimmering disco hi-hats bringing the rhythm urgency and subtle strings
filtering away in the bedrock of the composition. Blissed-out, spine-tingling gear.
‘Standing Up’ completes this delightful 3-pack in wonderfully colourful fashion. The
bass is more funk-fuelled, blasts of sprightful trumpet jump out of the mix, and sweet
snatches of piano give passing glances through a filtered haze. Samples are twisted
into unrecognisable snatches of melody, and infectious percussive hits pepper the
groove msot pleasingly. Masterful.

Premiere: Solid Gold Playaz - Who's Playin For Ya [Freerange]

It's that time of the year when Wind Horse Records release a catalogue of sensational originals from our ever-extending inner circle of artists, producers and DJs. The Wind Horse VA 2021 is an enchanting
5-tracker that have been brought together for their innate ability to help dance floors absolutely take off.

The first track titled ‘Deus Ex Initium' is an impressive tune from Clandestin, who makes a mark on Wind Horse with an acid-oozing house banger. Listener's dive into a seven minute journey orchestrated by a tight rhythm and elevated by godly vocals, enough to enrapture intimate gatherings or bring down the house in packed out big rooms. Smartly curated snares enhance the percussive drive of the track, lending it attitude and then some.

Next up, ‘No Other' by Smear., closes out our compilation with a gorgeous house burner. Reminiscent of the hay-days of global house music, the track is a fusion between traditional and modern electronic music sensibilities. Accompanied by a formidable bassline and melancholic synth stabs, this track can get a dance gnarly and classy, at the same time. Quite a difficult combination to find if you ask us.

Ojha G, also from India, follows next with a playfully exciting track called "Dance with that groove". 2016 is a new turning point year in Alejandro’s career. With a unique sounding album coming out at the end of the year in the respected english label Third Ear Recordings and a new palette of sounds and inspirations, Alejandro is slowly shifting to a more deep and complex sound. Still accesible to the club, but wider and richer in sound design.

These two new titles in the label’s catalogue carefully thread different periods in mosso’s evolution, showing the continuity of that personal sound defined by precise crafted percussions and playful melodies, appealing to the mind, body and soul.

Kander on the A side immediately sets the club pace with a rolling rhythm that serves as foundation for that classic mosso combination of riffs and counterpoints that build tension thru the song bringing it to an emotional peak before quickly stripping down back to the basics. The beat gently goes on, asking for the next ride of excitement.

Tikjda on the B side shows a similar beat, but we soon discover a completely different mood and tone. The percussions go darker, the meandering melodies become unstable and the timbres get nostalgic. A complex balance of north african drums, orchestra winds and drifting synths, build a song that proves as challenging to access as rewarding for those who give in and immerse themselves.

As World Beats Mature, it is truly and indelibly becoming an international phenomenon. Born out of warehouses in Chicago and New York, then cultivated in the clubs of London and Europe, house music culture has spread around the world with a determined influence. Thus the time has come for an important World Beats music scene to spring out of India, led by a striking young talent named Hamza and his exceptional Wind Horse Records label.

Wind Horse Records was formed in New Delhi in August 2009, earning the distinction of India's first house music label. Wind Horse was devised by prominent Indian DJ and producer Hamza. He dominated the label's artist roster so far with impressive releases that seamlessly meld house music rhythms, traditional instrumentation from Indian and other world musics, and admirably high production standards.

Wind Horse Records was formed in New Delhi in August 2009, earning the distinction of India's first World Beats music label. Wind Horse was devised by prominent Indian DJ and producer Hamza. Many of Wind Horse's releases feature Hamza collaborating with important talent such as Harmonic Choir founder David Hykes, well known Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi, and Yungchen Lhamo, a Tibetan singer who has recorded for Peter Gabriel's Real World imprint. In fact, collaboration and the merging of tradition with contemporary dance music can be seen as Wind Horse's mission, and yields exciting and unique results. 

Wind Horse's future includes increased interaction with musicians from 'the west,' as the label includes renowned remixers and artists from the electronic music world. Wind Horse's next step includes remixers such as Tom Middleton, Michael Mayer, Ricky Ryan, and Kosmas Epsilon tackling its exotic sound. The label also will continue to showcase the music of its region's up-and-coming producers, including new discoveries Kartech, from New Delhi.

The label's primary focus remains to expose the pool of talent from India and 'the east' to global dance music citizens. Wind Horse has been largely successful thus far, earning accolades from fans like Riva Starr, Dubfire, Peter Kruder, Roger Sanchez, John Digweed, Lauren Garnier, and Sander Klienenberg. Wind Horse's reach looks to continue to expand as Hamza and Vipul Angirish increasingly play gigs and festivals around the world. Wind Horse is also forming a live 'sound system' act which includes Hamza, Indian percussionist Latif Khan, Latin percussionist Manu Idhra, and a promising mix of dancers, visual artists, and globally based guest musicians. Wind Horse will also be exposing its sound to the world through the WHR Podcast Series, featuring two mixes each month from Wind Horse DJs and friends of the label.

The Wind Horse style and concept has worldwide reach, blasting its international vibe out of club systems and home stereos in nearby as well as far-flung cities.
