Kitty Macfarlane is a songwriter and guitarist from Somerset, whose music is rich with visual imagery and written with an eco-eye. From the starling murmurations on the Somerset Levels to the lowly eel's epic transatlantic migration, and the small part we ourselves play in a much bigger picture, her songs are bound by the underlying theme of mankind's relationship with the wild. Kitty Macfarlane's highly anticipated debut album Namer Of Clouds, released September 2018 and produced by Sam Kelly and Jacob J Stoney, gathers inspiration from the sky to the seabed. Carried by a voice 'as clear as a mountain stream' (FRUK), her lyrics touch on intervention and rewilding, climate change and migration, and woman’s historical relationship with textiles and the land. The album is augmented by all kinds of ‘found sound’ recorded in locations from Somerset to Sardinia – birdsong, waterfalls, the click of knitting needles - and bookended by sounds of the wild.

Kitty was voted Female Artist of the Year 2018 by FATEA. Namer Of Clouds was included in The Guardian's Best Folk Albums of 2018, and nominated for Album Of The Year in the fRoots Critics Poll. Kitty released her first EP Tide & Time in 2016, after being shortlisted for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award the year before, and has since toured with acclaimed folk duo Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Blair Dunlop, and Elephant Sessions. She has received project funding from the English Folk Dance and Song Society, and more recently the Lynsey de Paul Prize for female songwriters.

Winterfalle is the alt-folk brainchild of South London songwriter Sam Falle. Founded in the Island of Jersey, Sam's songs shares contemporary folk tales about local life, history and culture. Initially a solo project, the project has grown into an ensemble featuring Sam Falle on vocals, acoustic guitar, and keys, Todd MacDonald on electric guitar and vocals, Dom Main on cello and vocals, Jack Chown on drums, and James Kerr on bass.

Joe Innes & The Cavalcade are a post-Brexit indie-folk band from London led by singer/songwriter Joe Innes, whose masterfully offbeat and often irreverent songwriting has gained praise from national radio as well as online, being described as things like “a master of words” by This is Fake DIY and “just brilliant” by Tom Robinson on BBC6.

Joe Innes and the Cavalcade is a labour of love for the lead troubadour. Joe plays solo, but also formed the Cavalcade to be revolving door of musicians to perform with, and has recruited numerous talented musicians over time, including Zach Comtois, Britney Spears’s guitarist who Joe met while touring in Germany.

Their early releases were financed by Joe selling his comic book collection, and subsequent EP “Brian, I’m a Genius Too” was lauded by The Line of Best Fit amongst others for its masterful and confident melody. Then, following a European tour and numerous festivals spots, Joe and the band began work on their upcoming debut album – after a hugely successful crowd funding campaign raised a lot more money than selling comics did.

The new album is a stunningly poignant and relevant piece of work in these uncertain times. It is a document of Joe’s life as it currently is, on both a macro and micro scale. It’s about the artist’s relationships, his mental health and his experience, all framed by the political events of the past year – “it’s how I feel about where I am as a person, as a husband, and as a citizen of the UK in 2017”.

The new album ‘Foreign Domestic Policy’ comes out on the 26th May 2017. There will be a party.

Andrew Butler is a Singer-Songwriter based in Stroud, UK.

His music weaves enchanting melodies, introspective lyrics and a voice that is powerful in its vulnerability, into seamless sonic expressions of the soul.

Traces of his musical forebears such as Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith and Leonard Cohen can be heard in his songs alongside elements of Folk, Rock, Classical and Blues.

Butler fuses all of his influences and experiences together into a distinctly original sound and carves out his own unique space on the songwriting spectrum.

His discography includes the E.P. 'February 14th' released on Folkroom Records, debut album 'Chalk', which received airplay on Guy Garvey’s BBC Radio 6 show and his second album 'Songs From The Underworld' which was entirely self-produced and recorded.
