Take a large bucket. Add a pint of Neil Young, a pinch of Glen Hansard. Wack in a tea spoon of Damien Rice, then an ickle bit of Tom Mcrae. Shove in a hand full of Mike Scott, a heaped table spoon of Neil Finn and a large dollop of Conor J. O'Brien. Mix with a big stick then strain through an old sock. Pour. What you have is a little bit of Mr C.

Hello good people of the cloud.
I play everything in real time and record and master on a Tascam DP 32 Portastudio. Although three of the older songs on here where recorded on a 8 track tape recorder through an old seck analogue desk.
No pc's are used or abused in the process of me music making. I love tactile recording. Switches, faders, pots and buttons. Mouses are for computers and eating cheese. No Mac, Daws or Windows, Midi or overused plugins. And no automated mixing, compromise being a large part of my final sound.

I have enjoyed music for as long as I can remember and cannot remember a day of not either singing or listening to music. I am self-taught when it comes to playing guitar but what I most enjoy is singing which I have been doing since around age 18. Now retired singing and playing the guitar is now just a hobby and something I do to help pass the time. Have always  loved the sound of a Martin guitar. I am in the process of writing my fifth album which I hope to record at some stage during the year..

Musical influences for me have been many and varied including for example Bert Jansch, John Martyn, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Mark Knopfler, BB King, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Fairport Convention, Paul Simon,  JJ Cale, Eric Clapton, Colin Hay and John Mayer.

William  ,    Alternative folk , creating original  emotive songs , love the authentic sound of an acoustic guitar with emotive lyrics. Gaz Brown, a singer songwriter and the other half of Conscience Of Kings with producer and multi musician Noobly.  Also I’m  a writing partner for Under This Sun with producer and multi musician Sarge, Mike Fox multi musician and producer of This Sound Society, multi musician & producer Jeff Roberts under The Bird Thiefs .

I fell back into writing during 2020 after a 20 year absence. I think the hiatus￼ must have done me a world of good as I haven’t stop writing since, with over 200 songs recorded in studio or demo form. It’s just great to be back doing it again and not having to rehearse in sweaty lock ups and constantly playing live. I have the comfort of my own small studio room and do everything remotely
Having previously only ever fronted bands, the most successful one being 90s psychedelic original underground indie band This Elegant Chaos. I finally bothered to learn guitar and keyboard in the past couple of years .I just wish I had bothered when I was 15 as I might be decent by now!
My songs on this page are just born out of being creative and probably don’t sound nothing like my influences unlike the band page on sound-cloud of This Elegant Chaos.

Influences include late 70s new wave, late 80s indie guitar bands and the 90s explosion of ￼￼the Brit pop era and anything else that’s decent, whatever the style. If it’s good it’s just good!

The demo songs have all been recorded on a Boss Mini BR80 that fits in the palm of my hand. 
It’s all my own work except the  collaborations that are listed above 
Always open to doing any collaborations with other Soundclouders, don’t be shy to ask.
