Earthly Measures are proud to present the release of ‘El Búho - Cumbias Imaquinarias’, this time on wax with some added remixes.

'Cumbias Imaquinarias' is an EP that flows full circle with one of El Búho’s earliest inspirations for making electronic music; digital Cumbia. It was a scene that exploded out of Buenos Aires around 2008 and went global. The scene soon saturated and fell out of fashion, but gave birth to artists like Chancha Via Circuito, Frikstailers, El Remolon and was a big inspiration for him as a young producer.

For El Búho there was always something there; the entrancing magic of the Cumbia rhythm reimagined for the electronic dancefloor. Cumbia is a music that is globally connected but also so diverse, evolving and growing into many subshoots of this one simple rhythm. This EP presents three Cumbia’s and one Porro rhythm (a derivation of the Cumbia rhythm from the Colombian Caribbean which evolved into its own style).

Joining El Búho on remix duties for this release are ARN4L2, Lagartijeando, Auntie Flo, La Jungla, Earthly Measures x Dreems, La Forasteria and Sun Sone. Each artist offering a completely unique approach and their own magic touch to this El Búho masterpiece.

Coming in from Messina once again – OP:OP return with their latest sonic exploration: the MUNDI EP.
Rooted in the cultural mosaic of the Mediterranean, Andrea & Alessio channel their surroundings into sound. From the sandstone glow of Sicilian streets to the echoes of ancient empires, MUNDI is a tribute to a world where borders blur and rhythms travel. Driven by hypnotic ethno-dub grooves and analog warmth (say hello to Moog & Juno), OP:OP dive into earthy textures with cabasa, tight stomps and a variety of percussive elements. Their palette also includes electric guitar by Francesco Frudà and vocal fragments that drift like memories.
On the hypnotic title track, OP:OP map a pre-colonial landscape, a place where ancient stories whisper beneath modern machines. “Do You Follow Barà?” strikes with Afrobeat rhythms and horns, paying homage to the royal dances of West Africa and the legacy of Fela Kuti. On “Mesogeios” (Greek for Mediterranean), you’ll drift between the shores of Crete and the Libyan Sea. “Tricky” navigates the inner terrain of fragile emotions, featuring raw, revealing chants by Billy Prince Brown.

Shika Shika presents A Guide to the Birdsong of Migration, the fourth volume in its acclaimed A Guide to the Birdsong series.

This unique project brings together the songs of birds with the talent of artists from across the Americas, exploring in this edition stories of migration, birds and musicians who share the same routes.
This release features nine migratory artists from eight countries, including: Mas Aya & Lido Pimienta (CA/CO), Valesuchi (CL), Biomigrant (US), Diana Gameros (MX), Lagartijeando (AR), Terror/Cactus (AR) and more.
It also features some incredible bird species whose journeys mirror those of the artists themselves: the Canada Warbler (Reinita Canadiense), which travels a huge distance from Colombia to Canada, echoing Lido Pimienta’s own path between those two lands; the Rufa Red Knot, or “Moonbird,” which has flown the equivalent distance to the moon, reflected in Valesuchi’s own family history of migration across continents; the Buff-breasted Sandpiper, covering over 30,000 km a year, just as Biomigrant has traced his own musical journey across the Americas; and the Sandhill Crane, whose endurance and grace resonate with Diana Gameros’ story of resilience as a migrant navigating life between Mexico and the U.S.

A GLOBAL MINUTE is a series of collaborations with songs, MC's artists & film makers. It started in NYC by producer Nickodemus featuring MC's The Real Live Show, Sadat X, iLLspokinN & Rabbi Darkside. Each MC was then made into a painting by artist Justin Carty & animated into a full video. The project then traveled from city to city asking MC's to give us a minute in their city. Beirut, Tokyo, Saigon were next. Now we land in Dubai, a city know to most as a very flashy Vegas-like city built in the desert of the United Arab Emirates. Nickodemus met with local MC's Toofless, Jibberish, Eslam & Ed Hooligan to get a better look inside Dubai with all their very unique perspectives. Listen closely as they paint their verbal picture of a different side of life in Dubai. In addition, we have a very futuristic remix by the newly signed Wriggly Scott who weighs in on some heavy synth hip hop beats.
