We are delighted to welcome one of our all-time favourite Norwegian producers to the Phonica Mix Series - Bård Aasen Lødemel aka Skatebård. Dating back to the early 2000s, Skatebård's predominantly house and techno-focused productions have been picked up and released by such labels as Sex Tags Mania, Bordello A Parigi, Full Pupp, Untz Untz, Live At Robert Johnson and, of course, his own Digitalo Enterprises imprint. Phonica Mix Series 83: Skatebård

Next up in our Origins Tapes series is DJ & Producer Jeigo: who creates standout euphoric, melodic cuts for the club and takes the same care of their DJ selection as every sonic choice within their own music. 

Jeigo’s standout musical movement of the last 12 months has to be their incredible 4 track EP on PETS Recordings ‘We Are Not Nothing’ that blends harmonic atmospheres with delicate yet hard-hitting drum sounds in perfect cadence. 

The future for Jeigo is incredibly bright and this mix is a wonderful example of their capabilities as a DJ and artist, and definitely an entity to watch for the foreseeable future.

Taking influences from the elements of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, and the UK, his production style looks into the realms of deep house, minimal, breakbeat, ambient and more.

With a forthcoming release on the newly formed label air miles and many more projects coming up in 2019, Jeigo delves deep into his record collection for his International Tribe mix, with unreleased cuts from himself and his close friends at Valby Rotary.

I love opening sets.

Opening sets allow the DJ to create the atmosphere for an entire night and are a true challenge (and lost artform) for those DJs, who travel from town to town every weekend playing 2 hour peak-time sets.

Opening sets allow to play tracks (and / or songs) that you usually don't hear in a club when you arrive after a certain time due to the DJs fear of losing people off the dancefloor (so what? :-D ).

For this and other reasons I dedicate this mix to those who tend to come (too) late and to those who come early at the same time and send a huge "THANK YOU!" to those who were participating LIVE in this session. 
Also to those who contributed a few "WHOOHOOOs" in silent passages - one of the many nice things you only get when playing vinyl :)

It was a pleasure seeing the packed floor bouncing...early, did I mention that? 

There is this line in the song "Hello" by The Beloved:

    All you late-comers, just step on board.
    I'm happy, glad you came.
