Ring in 2025 with a three-hour flex from a hero of UK club culture.

They don't make DJs like Lukas Wigflex anymore. The Nottingham DJ and promoter has a love for UK club culture that borders on the unfathomable—and he does it all with a gusto that is unmistakably, one hundred percent pure Lukas. 

Wigflex started out as a "Wigflex Wednesdays," a free bar night in Nottingham with two-for-one pizzas to hook punters in. In the 19 years since, it has grown into one of the UK's most established party series, welcoming dance music giants while still championing homegrown talent. Recalling its journey from a modest bar night to powerhouse party, he told Stamp The Wax: "I created a mixtape and called it Wigflex 2000. It all just evolved naturally from that." 

"Evolved naturally" is, perhaps, too modest. In an increasingly hostile operating environment, it's hard to overstate the achievement of Wigflex's longevity, a testament to his tenacity and distinctive spirit. Who else, let's be honest, could get away with taglining their event, "Survival of the Wrongest." But don't let the tongue-and-cheek persona fool you, mind—he's deadly serious about tunes. 

His RA Podcast is a window into what Wigflex is all about: electro in all its shades, from the Hauffian to the Drexciyan, alongside wigged-out EBM and a healthy amount of Wigflex classics.

Even if you didn't know it was coming from him, you would certainly get the impression it sounds a lot like somebody who adores dance music. What better way to ring in the New Year?

Dekmantel continues to shape out the return of its UFO series with an EP of mind-massaging techno-trance futurism from Wata Igarashi. Capturing the energy of the UFO stages which indulge Dekmantel Festival's darker, experimental tastes, Igarashi turns out four shapely serotonin injections in his inimitable style.

There's an immediacy to the Kaleidoscopic 12" which rushes into earshot the moment the EP fires up with the insistent acid throb of the title track. The eternal undulation of a 303 provides the bedrock for Igarashi's fluttering brushstrokes, while a tough yet supple beat charges underneath. Cascading arps are a core element of the richly melodic sound on this release, reaching measured peaks of ecstasy on 'The Sailage' without ever taking a cheap shortcut. Understated, emotionally-charged eloquence spills out of every sequence. There's a softer, blurry-eyed sentiment to the synth work on 'Steaming', while 'Interweave' tempers classic acid techno tropes with gaseous atmospherics.

There are plenty of crisp edges in his tracks for the dancers to latch onto, but Igarashi specialises in a fluid motion that encourages less thinking and more feeling—a lysergic techno flow to truly melt into.

His work involves sound design experiments with both listening and club music, drawing heavily from ambient, IDM, bass, and mental techno. Exploring the therapeutic effects of textures and the depths of human reflection, Andriy’s live performances offer a journey through emotions and mental artifacts.

London-based producer and DJ Mossambi lays the first foundations for Homesite, a new label curated by Barcelona-based DJ Plot 45 for evocative and interpretative club music unburdened by stylistic limitations; instead focusing on how shared foundations can mutate into wildly different, exciting new sounds.

(Hs)(01) Theta Rhythm channels key moments in Mossambi’s musical education, forming a time loop that circulates through the last five years of his life. The EP is as patient as it is unpredictable, growing botanically from the ashes of the previous idea as transportive ambient music shifts into bassy club experiments.

“District Line” conveys utter stillness in an interconnected world. Airborne pads sway unaffected through sludgy, tingly and grinding mechanical textures that sound like moving through overhead cables.

“FTIR” comes out from thick metalwork to launch a coiling rhythm with stomping quad-kicks. The bass knocks at a single note, but the abundance of textures that enter come from across the whole spectrum – wildlife ruckus side-by-side with industrial creaking.

“Mathematics” finds a warm melody and deforms it, but the warbling vocals and oscillating bauble tones make its serene beauty cut through all the more. While the glitches may seem to destabilise the track, in the final third they make way for a bed of strings for the melody to settle in.

Klotang’s remix of FTIR (a collaborative project between producers Klahrk and Joel EB) closes out by condensing the tension and release of the entire EP into one, short, breathless piece of pulsing jungle; a future-forward, hardcore-leaning track that fits right at home with Mossambi’s low-end bionics.
